RE: Is Steemit.com protected as intellectual property?

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

Agreed. The steem premine is one of the biggest obstacles to making STEEM work like it was designed to, though there are other issues as well.

Corrected.
Which other issues?
I know about other issues, yet you may know about others which I may still not be aware about.

Account inequality at launch was a big hurdle that has been very difficult to overcome.

Does "account inequality" mean premining, or another thing?

Sort:

There are many, but there are no obvious solutions. I for one don't think a linear voting model can work if the goal is to reward the best content. Also, not having account verification causes a lot of problems, but that is not a popular solution. There are several other smaller changes to the economic structure that might help as well. Though it would all function much better if everyone started at the same level when things launched, and also if there some benevolent moderators (which would have to be monitored), but again that is not a popular move. And yes by account inequality I was referring to the setup when things launched, several accounts received tons of virtually free steem which have caused trouble for the platform mostly ever since.

Non linear voting model means not proportional.
While I prefer meritocracy over democracy, quadratic reward curve will favor preminers and the rich even more than the current linear reward curve.
No wrong in rewarding stakeholders, but if it is so good, why are dividends of corporations not distributed this way?
10 accounts of 100SP will count 1/10 as much as 1 account of 1000SP.
It will encourage collectivist workarounds such as currie, MSP and other menaces.
This way, proportionality/linearity will be achievable, because even the bigger users in such an aggregation will still be able to gain from their participation.
Even if x>y then (x+y)^2/x^2=1+2*y/x+y^2/x^2, and the gain is positive.
What is your opinion about such collectives?
Since you mentioned moderation, you should be enthusiastic about them.
MSP and currie have moderation.
