hey dude was suffering the same problem, before you start typing your post you can tick a box called editor which will bring up some more advanced options, one of which is insert image file or something.
click the insert image file button and copy in your links above and they'll be pasted into your post :)
man appreciate the input. do i need to use a better browser? i have currently been posting from my phone nm found it on mi phone!!!

There's an easy way to post images on Steemit. The text editor supports something called "Markown," take a look and you'll see. The following link will tell you how to do everything, so just scroll down to the "Images" section for info on how to do it!
