Anyone heard this before? Steemit account not getting approved?
Trying to get more Steemit members here
Several months ago I started to introduce Steemit on a Dutch platform where I was active since March 2017. At that moment I was not really an active member here yet, but I wanted to see if there were more members interested joining Steemit, as there is a lot of talent out there on this platform.
By the time I had my first success post here on Steemit, I posted another update there and several members joined the Steemit platform since then.
Signing up without getting approval
One of the people that I am fond of at that platform, and really could use some extra earnings, also tried to activate an account here. The first time she tried, I told her it could take several days, and after 1 week I was not really surprised it didn't get approved yet. But after a few weeks, I knew some others also joined from there, and I was surprised she didn't get that e-mail yet. She waited, and waited, but nothing happened. The first attempt is already 2 months ago, at least..
Second attempt did not work out either
So a few weeks ago, I asked her if she had an extra e-mailadress and telephonenumber to try again. She said she did, and made another attempt. So she waited again, and now again a few weeks have passed by, and still she has not received this approved e-mail yet. So I am asking myself, is she the only one this happened to? I can't imagine actually. But from all the other people I told about Steemit, and signed up, I never heard this problem before.
You can think that by the second attempt something is blocking the approval due to the same ip-adress, but the weird thing is, my boyfriend and I joined Steemit the same day, and we were using the same ip-address too. And then again, what is the reason for the first failed attempt to get approval?

As I was inspired by this blog from @karinxxl about doing something nice for someone, I decided to try to help a bit more than I did until now. I asked the always helpful members in the discord chat channel from #alldutch . They did not know the answer, but @woodzi (thanks!) came up with the post about paying for an account and send me a link. I read the post, and I saw that you had to search for the price of the account (the witnesses apparently decide this amount as I understood this correctly) but I could not find it anywhere. Maybe I just didn't see it, so if someone has the golden tip, please leave a comment.
Maybe I can pay the fee for her
I am willing to see if I can pay the registration fee for her, but I would like to know what went wrong the first two attempts before I try to do this. Because maybe it will not get approved after I paid for her either? I really really would love to see her join this community, I think this would be such a good thing for her, as she can use every penny that she can earn extra. She is one of those persons that stole my heart, and I would like her to have a bit of a break, I can't help her taking away her daily pain, but maybe I can help her getting in this community so she will have a bit more financial piece of mind. She is a good writer, and she can write in Dutch and English, so she will be a valuable member one day. I have no doubt about this.

If anyone had this problem before, and solved it, can you please let me know? Or if you know someone with this problem, and maybe you know who I can ask for help in this, I would highly appreciate your help! I would not put this effort in writing this post if I did not think she would be of any value here..

I think my friend also use this when we need to let our group account to be approved, do you think time will come that all of those who wants to join #steemit will have to pay? I mean it won't be free to join anymore?
Yes, I think that one day there will likely be a cost to join Steemit.
I think so too actually.. And I guess that may be good in a way to avoid the spam account.. and keep steemit cleaner

Here's an idea: download Vessel (by @jesta) -> https://github.com/aaroncox/vessel/releases
Then you can create accounts for about 0.5 Steem (but you will have to delegate some Steempower to the new account in the process).
Hi @fitzgibbon That's very helpful actually. Do you know how much steempower I would need to delegate? But in this way, I can get the delegated power back when she has enough power herself, right?
Yeah, exactly. You need about 15 SP, which you can get back (with 7 days in between). Steem Power is needed for bandwidth, but I've done posting, commenting, voting and transfer with accounts with 0.5 SP.
