Good day to you my fellow Steemians, Uloggers and Steemgigers. The past few days have been very exciting in the Steem community. First, we celebrate the 1 millionth user as confirmed by this steem blog-post by @steemitblog who announce the said milestone. Our 1 millionth member is @xmlvnx. I am not sure if he or she knows it however I will surely greet this person once he or she starts doing some blog-post.

This is truly great news as a lot of cryptocurrency and Blockchain projects lose steam after the initial hype subsides. A sentiment that is shared by one of the world’s leading freelance Bitcoin writer JP Buntinx.

However, more than the ever growing number of new Steemian users is the fact that the STEEM Blockchain has more transactions per day than all blockchains.

Every day, the Steem blockchain is producing more than a million transactions. That is more transactions per day than all other blockchains combined!

A fact that you can confirm using blocktivity.info, a website that tracks the activities of different blockchains found in the cloud. As you can see below STEEM has a daily traction of around 1,803,600 transactions and followed by Ethereum which has less than half the transaction STEEM has with only 818,112 transactions.

It was also revealed that there are about 60,000 unique accounts transacting on the Steem Blockchain each day with Steemit.com (the first Steem-based Decentralize application or DApp) getting over 250,000 unique daily visitors. Mind you that is only one DApp, Mr. Ned Scott, CEO and Founder of Steemit, revealed that there are over 350+ DApps operating and being developed on top of the Steem Blockchain in a video during the GoPax Meetup in Seoul, South Korea last month.

To gain greater insight of the number of DApps and other pertinent statistics about it I suggest you head over to @miniature-tiger Utopian blog-post where he shares with us Data regarding the Market Share of the Steem Blockchain by Application. This was March 2018 Analysis and it would be interesting to note what are the new statistics since the release of Steemgigs.org. No wonder more and more people are joining steemit and reaping the benefits of being one of the pioneers in this relatively new social media platform.

Steem the No. 2 cryptocurrency (China)

There is also another reason to be happy in the Steem community. It has been rank by the official agency in China that rates all cryptocurrency as the No. 2 cryptocurrency second only to Ethereum. You may follow the link there that shows you the link to the official Chinese website that released the report. It seems that the report came from the agency that handles the rating system in the whole of China- China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

This was truly a wonderful news for everyone in the community. Since the news broke out I have been wondering if the tokenization mechanism of STEEM had been released- SMT what would be the ranking? Would we have taken the number #1 Spot? Honestly, I believe we have a very good chance getting it. Of course that is me speaking a die hard steemian who accepts steem in its all totality with all its quirks and imperfections which I will believe will be resolve in the future. Nevertheless no matter how you view this positive developments weather you are a serial pessimist or optimist (like me) one thing is for sure STEEM is doing something right.
