COUSINS FOR LIFE

These are my cousins from my mother’s side. They’re crazy and are always down for anything that’s fun! (though the one in blue and the one I’m hugging are my siblings)

I remember looking forward to the weekend back from when I was a little kid because I knew we’d all be gathering to one of our Auntie’s house, either from my Mamana or my Mommy’s house ( yes, I call my aunties like that 😁). We’d enjoy our Mamana’s delicious cookings and my Mommy’s home-baked blackforest cake. After that, we would run around the house and do all sorts of things, I ALWAYS HAD A BLAST WHEN I’M WITH THEM. A day isn’t enough that my big brother and I would beg or even cry ourselves just so our Mama and Daddy would allow us to have a sleepover.

However,

Things aren’t always fun,you see, a tragedy happened and that somehow led to some misunderstandings which drifted us apart, it was a “grown-up” affair and us cousins could’t do anything about it because we were just kids. I won’t put much details but we were suddenly missing two pieces in our perfect puzzle. The rest of us stayed the same, as close as always although the weekend isn’t as exciting to look forward to. Time flew by and I grew up to undestand the situation, 6 years without contact from the missing pieces while my Mama secretly meets with them from time to time. Yes, in secret to avoid conflict from my others.

Time did flew by, we all grew ofcourse and I’m soon going to be 18 and will have a debut celebration. I knew that I wanted it to be meaningful and I want them to finally meet and reconcile through this special day in my life, so I invited my two distant cousins and told my aunties in advance that they will be in my birthday even if it’s against their feelings. The night finally came, it was my night but behind the focus on me I have yet to realized that my cousins finally resolved the misundestanding of the “grown-ups”, RECONCILED FINALLY. My aunties hugged them tightly and long enough as if they were filling all the hugs they missed over the past years. I got one my my birthday wishes in an instant!

My debut celebration ended and the next day I was informed that we’ll be having a cousins christmas dinner and exchanging gift in chirstmas day. I was glad that the one’s with work are paying the dinner lol!

minus one ( he had to leave early for work) but plus two because he has a family now :)

Little things changed, probably because we’ve matured and we got fatter and they got taller :( lol but the bond was still there. They were still down for anything crazy.

We may have had problems and arguments but we are a family and the world cannot change that. Time heals and communication helps :)
