Though I put a lot of work into it, I applaud you for spending enormous time and effort making your blogs and replying to comments to achieve results worth studying and sharing.
Your success shows any Steemians can make good money doing what they love using the Steemit platform without buying STEEM or Steem Power or having a large followers/fans from other social networking sites. All they need to do is working both hard and smart, produce quality content regularly, interacting with their readers/viewers, and wait patiently for their efforts to bear fruit.
I agree. Sandia I think you also put a lot of effort into your posts. And I don't think it is really valid to say you and Jerry brought over lots of people from other platforms. It is not that easy to do that because people are skeptical about new platforms especially when it comes to social media and anything to do with cc.

As to 'why' she made almost $70K I think it's a simple 2 word answer.... 'she's pretty', which unfortunately is not a strategy open to me, or most of the rest of us.
And on that basis I don't find this particular infographic focusing on 'how' that useful.

Though she's pretty, I believe she would have achieved only a fraction of her results if she didn't put in the time and effort making quality content and interacting with her readers.

You certainly can make money here by investing enough the time and effort.
Considering how often I have posted on forums or facebook and nothing comes back from those efforts I think it only makes sense to do something that can help my family's future. The idea of the content that you create generating an income of any sort is completely different to me. Love it and will continue to lurk and make a few comments over the next couple weeks as I learn the ins and outs of what can and can't be posted.

@amazingstats just a quick question if you don't mind. Is there a reason not to upvote on comments? I've noticed not many people do it compared to when you comment on say Facebook. Would think sharing the love on a site like this would actually happen more, not less. Trying to learn...not judging.

Forgetting to do it.
My upvote value is $0.
The comments are poor or average or provide little value (such as "Great post!")
@amazingstats so there is no downside to doing so. And no doubt most comments don't deserve an upvote, but seems like some are thought out and nobody gives credit. This isn't about post, just a general thing I've noticed.

I think something you're missing in sweet and jerry's success stories is that they brought followers from outside of the platform. People were already familiar with who they are so they just amplified that success through steemit.
I would like to see a success story where someone starts with 0 followers and earns each one organically. After almost 3 months I am just approaching the 500 follower mark, and maybe 5 of them upvote my content.
