This is quite possibly the most hilarious account of a Robot gone rogue I have ever seen. I couldn't help myself from laughing when I saw this actual news story the other night. I decided to toss it up on Steemit because of all the complaints about Bots and their methods of trolling users recently. In light of those recent developments I felt it was only fitting to leave this right here and let you guys be the judges, and jury. The real hero of this story already took it upon himself to be the executioner.
NBC recently reported about a Roomba that went on a trolling spree of EPIC proportions in the middle of the night while its owner slept. Peacefully unaware that his Roomba was quietly trolling away, the man not only drew a map of the crime scene after the incident but even issued a warning to fellow Roomba owners lest they suffer the same fate. In short, someone's Roomba managed to spread a 25-foot trail of feces throughout their home at 1:30 AM only to be discovered by his son around 3:00 AM.
Here's some of the highlights of NBC's story and the victim's account of the incident :
Newton documented the dramatic saga that unfolded as a cautionary tail to others. The post, complete with a hand drawn map of the poop trail, has since gone viral with more than 140,000 reactions and more than 200,000 shares.
Not only did Newton draw a map but he also issued great advice on how to deal with a Roomba gone rogue at 3 AM in the morning. Newton had this to say in comment:
“Do not, under any circumstances, let your Roomba run over dog poop,” Newton said. “If the unthinkable does happen, and your Roomba runs over dog poop, stop it immediately and do not let it continue the cleaning cycle.”

“You're saying things that would make Satan shudder in revulsion. You hope your kid stayed in bed, because if he hears you talking like this, there's no way he's not ending up in prison.”

In the end this robotic vacuum was doomed to suffer a fate that any robot would fear. This story however is not without an upside, in the end our fellow member of humanity prevailed victorious :
"They are replacing the Roomba that ran over dog poop and then died a poopy, watery death in the bathtub - by no fault of their own, of course," Newton wrote on Facebook.
A fitting end to a truly awesome tale of a real life Robot gone Rogue.
