WASTE MANAGEMENT ON THE BLOCKCHAIN - Crypto Nights Episode #26

This video is going to be a bit different, but it is the start of a different series of videos we want to start making where we take a look at specific ICOs and blockchain technologies that are going to change the future.

We want to let you all know about a project currently underway that you should keep an eye out for.

This project is named Swachhcoin, which is a non profit organisation that aims to create a sustainable and technologically advanced, sustainable waste management ecosystem. But how will it achieve this?

The innovative aspect of Swachhcoin is that it will achieve this ecosystem by leveraging Big Data, IoT, AI and Blockchain. They are currently undergoing a crowdfunding campaign and it seems like a great cause to contribute to.

Anyone who follows me on Steemit will know that environmental issues are a recurring theme in my blogs, and I am always looking out for projects that look to mitigate the effects of Climate Change.

The Swachhcoin mission

Swachhcoin in essence is a revolutionary waste management platform aiming to disrupt the current waste management industry. It views the current industry as inefficient and not the best option for the environment.

At the moment the world is facing a waste management crisis. The current inefficiencies within the industry is leading to disastrous consequences for the environment.

By using these new technologies, predominantly the blockchain and internet of things, Swachhcoin looks to reduce these inefficiencies and provide us all with a cleaner service.

Not only this, consistent with the idea of “think global, act local”, Swachhcoin looks to develop an ecosystem in which individuals are made aware of the waste around them in order to help us improve our waste management as individuals.

Environmental impact

Currently, the main issues of waste management include incineration and the poor management of landfill sites.

Incinerating waste causes problems, because materials such as plastics produce toxic substances went burnt. Gases from incineration cause air pollution and contribute to phenomena such as acid rain.

But this is only scratching the surface, we really recommend checking out Swachhcoin’s website and seeing how you can get involved and how you can contribute to the cause and reap the rewards later on!
