This is the same thing as "scratch my back and I will scratch your". I tried making a curation trail for minnows but fellow minnows brush it off, they don't want to know you because you are not a whale. They only like to follow whales hoping that they will give them a vote... I have whales voted for me every now and then but at what rate? at 1% and if I get lucky I get 10%.. what is that $2?
I have been explaining if minnows make curation trail for fellow minnows to follow and it will be like upvoting each other without having to go and read every single post. If you make curation trail of only 100 members and all members will vote at 10% with a value of 0.05 multiply that with 100 members how much is that $5 and you get 100 votes which will give you more exposure. But unfortunately, no takers then they only keep getting what 10 cents?
Others oppose auto upvoters or bots but if you know how to utilize it, it is to your advantage. People are just sometimes lazy or don't want to think how to make things better for them. They just want to be spoon feed, which will not happen.
I have started with getting only cents per post but when I have learned a few tip and tricks and a good community to belong to it has gone better. And of course the aim of the game is to keep getting better.
One a global view you might say that all current users are early adapters.
But if you examine the current situation you will see that the current minnows are actually very late to the party.
The whales have reached a certain point where self-voting can earn them several dollars a day. So their's very little incentives to help the new users.
The new users need to write a lot of content to compensate for this. So the current situation act basically as a piramide scheme: The newbies need to write dozens of articles, earning few pennies. Which makes up for self-voting whales.
You need * a lot* of minnows to vote. To come to a a few pennies. And apparently people aren't prepared to this.
It's easier to be a whale's begger then to earn your place.
Greed is the number one problem on steemit. My idea for a bot would be as followed. Check for current self-owned mvests, adapt voting power based on the amount of mvest. The lower the mvests, the higher the voting power. Together with taking into account what level someone is and you have the best minnowsupported bot ever.
Yes ... you are right but on every platform there are some tricks and i think it depends on the side you are on how you see the things
Is like in life, there will always be the rich and the poor, the methods depends from person to person on how the get rich or poor. Is all about us and about us on how we see things :)
I think most people don't realize how lucky we are to be a part of this as a community. Things of this magnitude are usually only available to the elite. If the power of the community could be harnessed the growth could be exponential.

I agree, I do not like the auto upvote thing at all. I know someone compared it to subscribing on youtube, but you do not auto upvote every video they post just by subbing. And "scratch my back I'll scratch yours" does NOT promote quality content, it promotes a little clique of successful people who COULD lift others but choose to create a steemit elite. Humans are what they are, and sadly we are creatures that like to feel like we are better than those around us. The British "Royal family" are real world whales. They are no different than anyone else, they are not "divinely anointed" they just got everyone to bow down and now everyone does it from habit. I probably will never do well here, as I am just not an ass kisser. I have never had a whale upvote anything I did, but I did manage to piss one off... without even trying, just speaking my mind... So yeah, we call "blowing whales" at our house and we just ain't into it.
Well but we have no choice but to keep on posting, consistency is the key, you may get some good whales too, I have only 2 whales following me and they are really good and supportive.
I suspect my attitude does not help my cause, but I am what I am. I just can't pretend that I adore everything a whale posts. My quality varies, some days I am knocking 'em out, some days I am phoning it in... I do not mean to be inconsistent but humans are variable creatures. Autovoting based on personality... just not cool with me and so all the whales who are in that circle jerk are going to think I am the jerk. :) So it goes. We all have opinions, we all have assholes... lol!
Auto votes and Bots are part of the system. In an ideal world steemit would work differently. We have to do many things here to achieve success. 1.) consistently post content to the best of your ability 2.) Engage in the community. Join contests, Curate posts, comment on posts 3.) Have patience
Auto votes and Vote bits serve a purpose. They help to motivate me while I go through the process.Good Luck in your Steemit journey
Funny, the autovotes and bots discourage me daily. I post, curate, make memes, do recipes, enter contests... Made up my own "minnow booster" program to try to help newbies with my big, bad almost .01 vote... 3 months now and I still have never had a whale upvote anything I do. Some nice comments, but never an upvote. It feels like a closed society to me, an elite club where I am never going to be a member because I am not part of the inner circle. I am not really whining, it is what it is, but I find the autovotes and bots demeaning. Support based on who you know, not what you wrote does not seem like a great way to curate content.
I just looked through your blog. You are doing good things. I think with some time and patience things will work out for you here. I going to add you to my follow list. I would think that it would be a good idea to get involved in steemit contests. Its a good way to get some visability and you can also have a good time

I like your Idea about stating a curation trail for minnows. I would be interested in being a part of that. Lets discuss
You had this explained very well, exactly this is what I am talking about.
I resteemed your post, because I like when someone pick controversial topic. This site have problems and we should face them and make something.
Well its just to make things better for all :)
