New steemit idea to promote musicians, venues & steemit - gig-guide tag - list your local gigs - I'll give 2 steem for the first 5 listings - please resteem
Lets promote more musicians on steemit by creating a gig-guide. Where local musicians and venues can list their forthcoming gigs. This in turn will attract more musicians and music venues to steemit to promote their gigs.
The way steemit works at the moment with 7 day post exposure is perfect for listing up and coming gigs. lets utilise thise and post gigs up to a week in advance.
My idea is that we create a tag relevent to the country.
e.g. if you are posting a gig in the U.K. then use the tag gigguide-uk.
If you are posting a gig in the U.S.A. then use the tag gigguide-usa.
Also create a tag for the City/town the gig will be playing.
e.g. if the gig is in Leeds then use the tag gigguide-leeds.
Also create a tag for the venue. just use the venue name without adding gigguide. this way people can then check the venue tag to see what other events are going on at that venue.
So if the gig was taking place at The wardrobe in Leeds you would add thewardrobe
Also add the name of the event.
Example :
Tonight in Leeds U.K. the band 'sugerman 3' are playing at the wardrobe. so i would add the tags : sugerman3 gigguide-uk gigguide-leeds thewardrobe
For the post remember to add the date and time of the event, if there is a promo image or logo for the band/event add that.. If there is a link to the organisers webpage then link that too.

AGMP presents The Sugarman 3.
Daptone Records Boogaloo Combo announces first UK Headline Tour in over a decade.
The Sugarman 3 are an organ driven soul machine. Originally formed by tenor saxophonist & Daptone Records co-owner Neal Sugarman as a Boogaloo / Soul Jazz combo in the late 1990's, the band quickly defined it's sound as a break from the academics of typical soul-jazz by focusing on the soulful funk element of organ music.
'Sugar's Boogaloo' was the 1998 debut album by The Sugarman 3 on Desco Records. This was followed in 2000 with 'Soul Donkey'. After Neal Sugarman & Gabriel Roth formed Daptone Records in 2001, The Sugarman 3 released their next album 'Pure Cane Sugar' in 2002. Aside from a few 45's with Lee Fields, The Sugarman 3 would not release another album until 2012's 'What The World Needs Now'.
The Sugarman 3 have worked with Charles Bradley, Lee Fields, Naomi Davis and Bernard 'Pretty' Purdie.
Music Genres: Jazz, Soul

Hi @pcste I was thinking about this idea today whilst at work then when I searched to see if anyone had done something like that I found your post here. Did this idea get much traction? My thinking was similar except I was going to start by focusing on Australia and creating a weekly post where I listed all upcoming gigs. I would get musicians to email me their gig details and I would create the post. The main aim like you mentioned is to attract more musicians to Steemit. I like your idea and if this is working, that's great. Keen to hear your thoughts.
