nice idea, which can be very usefull if you like to listen to music on your desk, if you are not at your desk but outside / on the road, it can be an idea where your friends are on purpose clapping at it, you lose it, it stops working, especially if its vulnerable. does it pay everything when its in your back and picks up some stuff? it needs to be connected tot the internet aswel, also bluetooth or priorly wifi? a soundbox is now a payment device.. it could work if its very decent else I see mmore cons than pro's in it but it is a nice device to support a facility and maybe (if it works ) enhances more community voting but I doubt the usefulness slightly more
Thanks for your feedback @seveaux! It'll be both bluetooth and wifi. Regarding the tipping, you'd have to eventually confirm all your tips on the app before we send the musicoins to the artist.

On the design, we didn't want to reinvent a new speaker. The market has decided that a cylinder is what they want.

It's true, top musicians are already well paid, but not through streaming and mainly with live gigs. Imagine if they didn't have to tour every year to make money and they could spend that time connecting with their fans, for example. Also, we'd like to help the artists that struggle (which is the vast majority) rather than the once that are already doing well.
Yes, Amazon and Google could, but we have a patent on that. So they'd have to pay us first :)
