"Steemgigs.org" is dedicated to my mum who passed away last year and i had let it die but in the last few days, we have worked on restoring steemgigs.org and we will begin its active development henceforth.

Evidence The SteemGigs.org Alpha Was Functional In The Past

Current 'Development' Update

This is a quick post to announce that "development" has resumed for steemgigs.org and henceforth, development will continue, however gradual. 

For a period, especially due to some unforeseen occurrences, 'like my mum's passing away', 'my dad's health perils' and 'my deteriorating physical health' etc, steemgigs.org's development halted for a few months. (This may not have been noticed on a large scale as steemgigs.org was in alpha stage and was mostly open to bug-testers.)

In the few months that passed, our database wasn't maintained and the back-end server wasn't maintained either. 

On the front-end, steemgigs.org continued to function but it no longer displayed content.

During these months, while gigs weren't being displayed on steemgigs.org, it was still possible to find gigs on the steem blockchain and avail of gigs directly on #steemgigs or via our community on discord. 

Thus, the freelancing economy on steem, never really stopped, neither did #steemgigs

The interest by the steem community in a steem-based freelancing marketplace has kept on vibrant, stemming the resuscitation of the project. 

In the last few days, we have retrieved and restored the database and we have re-deployed the back-end to a server as well, restoring steemgigs.org to it last functional state (with some things missing).

Currently, we are not able resuming posting 'gigs' just yet as there are some bugs preventing this (which is being worked on) but you will be able to find gigs that have been published via steemgigs.org in the past.

This simply means, that you can now visit steemgigs.org to find hundreds of gigs that have been published thereupon, in the past and avail of them. 

Another thing that you can currently do on steemgigs.org, while we work on restoring the "create a gig" function, is to setup your steemgigs.org custom profile. This can still give visitors to our website insight into your expertise and 'range of services' that you may be offering.

To find some of these gigs on steemgigs.org, it is currently best to search gigs manually, by exploring the different categories and respective sub-categories directly. 

This is because, our search engine isn't fully-functional yet.

If you can't find the gigs that you seek on our database, you can consider exploring the steem blockchain directly on #steemgigs. As mentioned earlier, '#steemgigs' started more than 2 years ago and the first successful steemGIG happened some two years ago as well. 

There are thousands of gigs on the steem blockchain, especially on #steemgigs

A viable way of finding/availing of gigs directly on steemit or on #steemgigs, is by using the search engines. You can simply do this by adding "steemgigs" or "#steemgigs" to the phrase constituting your google search query 

e.g "steemgigs graphic designer wanted"

Another way to find/avail of gigs that aren't currently listed on steemgigs.org is by visiting our SteemGigs discord server.

Once we have tended to the bug that is preventing gigs from publishing to the steem blockchain via steemgigs.org, we will announce this. You will be able to post once again.

Note that we are still in alpha, so steemgigs.org is bound to have bugs.

In general, we will resume development actively again, starting with a quick UX reformation i.e we will be adding a 'design/styling' to our UI in the coming days, to simplify its look and make it more attractive. 

Then, we will gradually begin to enhance existing functionalities and build additional functionalities. To this effect, i will be resuming "task requests" (using bounties) via utopian.io

Besides task requests, we currently have small team of developers and we invite interested developers to join in, in helping us build steemgigs.org

We are ending December strong and we will start January very strong. 

Steemgigs.org will make use of the teardrops SMT. Altogether, the teardrops SMT will be used across 3 steem-based interfaces i.e steemgigs.org, ulogs.org and Macrohard

While i am not usually very frontal with asking support, you may decide to support my efforts at this point as i really need support. 

To do so, @steemgigs is now open to delegation and where you see fit, "donations".

Within the next few months, 'delegation' will be focused towards supporting contributors, especially to the development of steemgigs. This will help us speed development, to where steemgigs.org primary functions are ready within a month or two.

Regardless, i will keep using my resources, financial and otherwise, however limited, to bring steemgigs.org to full-blown life. This is a slower route but my healing lies in, "gifting the world with some awesomeness via my projects".

How Do We Stand Out From The Likes Of Fiverr

While it is easy to mention the likes of fiverr, upwork, freelancer etc when thinking of steemgigs.org, note that we are building something more revolutionary. This is where we will really stand out. We are trying to 'adjust the world' using steemgigs.org, so, we are actually building a "dream-building" ecosystem, where "everyone has something to offer". 

This allows us to build every noble dream.

It is very obvious that steem-based steemgigs.org will have many advantages over centralized freelancing marketplaces like Fiverr etc but besides these obvious advantages, i want to enlist other underlying areas, where we want to stand out.

• Unlike the likes of Fiverr etc, we will incessantly 'serve the search engines' i.e steemgigs.org has a 'surpassinggoogle' paradigm (This means that steemgigs is very content-based. Thus, it will incite the creation of hundreds or thousands of posts daily)
• We have a knowledge-bank (To incite the deposit/withdrawal freshly-created niche-based expert knowledge.)
• We will have an 'un(dis)talented' paradigm (i.e our ecosystem will allow even non-experts to offer gigs freely. These ones will be able to hone their current level of expertise, by offering services either at lower price or for free, to the knowledge of participating clients)
• We will have free gigs. (SteemGiggers are dream-builders. Thus, some would offer free gigs. SteemGigs will also actively seek ways of supporting clients who want to build their noble dreams but who are on a low budget)
• Instead of simple 'reviews', will have full-blown SteemGigs testimonial posts. (This will help all participants grow, serve the search engines with more new-breed content, enhance overall reputation and help participants earn rewards for their content etc)
• We will incentivize the "creation of task requests".
• The SteemGigs ecosystem will be built around a 'grey-list' of users. (Note black/white lists)
• It will also make use of the teardrops SMTs
• We will have an optional escrow.
• We will have an actual community. (SteemGigs will play an active role in getting to know partipants of our ecosystem)
