Steamed Egg Tofu with Pork
This is a simple and easy recipe, our family loves it 🥰. Hope you like it too!
INGREDIENTS
**1/2 pound minced/ground pork
**1 tsp cooking wine
**1/2 tsp sesame oil
**1/2 tbsp oyster sauce or 1/2-1 tsp soy sauce
**1/2 tsp corn flour or cornstarch
**1 egg
**1/4 tsp ginger - minced (optional)
**1-2 stalk(s) scallion - washed, chopped
**2 tubes egg tofu
**1 tbsp carrot - minced finely
**extra 1-2 tbsp soy sauce
MARINATING MINCED PORK
Place minced pork in the bowl, and marinate all the ingredients (1 tsp cooking wine, 1/2 tsp sesame oil, 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce or 1/2-1 tsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp corn starch, an egg and 1/2 stalk chopped scallion) mix well and set aside. If your family member likes some minced ginger, you can add 1/4 tsp on the marinated pork.
Cover and put in the fridge for 10 minutes or you can stuff it right away.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Egg Tofu: Rinse and cut it about an inch thick, and place it on the plate.
- Scoop out the middle top on each piece of tofu.
- For the leftover middle parts that were scooped, I mix them with the marinated pork.
- Stuff the marinated pork in each tofu’s scooped out area.
- Add 1-2 tbsp of soy sauce once it’s ready for steaming.
- Add minced carrot on top each stuffing.
- Once the water boils, place into the steamer and steam for about 20 minutes with medium high heat.
- For the last 2 minutes add 1/2 stalk of chopped scallion. You can add parsley, cilantro or others instead of scallion.
