Stage 2 - Life-Size Steemit Logo
Life-Size Steemit Logo AmsterdamFest
After this amazing feedback on our last post we will show you here our how-to guide and talk about stage two of our logo later in our post.
We said we put a lot of work in it. In numbers 9h, but: “hey, we had a lot of fun while working on it.”
For those who want to build their own Steemit logo. Here are your instructions. We would love to see other Steemit logos around the globe.
How-to build your own Steemit logo
Prepare the pattern
Printout of the Steemit logo on a 4x3 DIN A4 scale (most printers have this function, no extra software needed). After a little cutting and glue - there is the basic pattern.
Outline drawing and cutting
Draw the pattern outlines on cardboard packing. Make sure you avoid corners of the unfolded cardboard packing for maximum stability. Then use a small cutter to cut out the shapes.
Assemble the shapes
We connected to shapes with many small cardboard stripes to have this litte “bottom-top” models. The stripes are placed exactly with the outline of the shapes to support the coming paper layer on top. We used superglue to fix the stripes.
Mounting
We put a thin plastic wrap around the wooden stick (3x for each model on the stand) and wrapped it in (news)paper and glue. A few elastics kept it tight while drying. You remove the thin plastic wrap from the inside, so there is just enough extra space to slide the mount on the stick very easy.
We fixed the mount with superglue on the inside of the model.
Wrapping
The whole model is wrapped in 2-3 layers of (news)paper and glue. The wrapping gives a lot of stability to the whole structure, so make sure to let it completely dry before painting.
Stage 2
After our post we had a talk with @roelandp about our logo and Amsterdam Fest. He likes the idea and we most likely would put the logo in the hotel lobby of our official Steemit Hotel. (Such exciting)
The day after our Post went to the Baumarkt and had a look on the materials we need to get the "BIG L" done. As you can see in the picture below we need the whole package of styrofoam, a lot of glue again, this time waterproof paint and some small things i do not count.
So to get all these things done, we could need the help of our Steemit community. We would like to fundraise the materials and the transport to the Amsterdam Fest. Therefore if someone out there likes our idea and want to meet us at the Fest we would highly appreciate any help!
We really would like to bring "real world" validity through our logo.
Thank you guys in advance!
Sincerely yours, @paa
Cool project.
Thank you!
