Good afternoon fellow steemians @steem4nigeria, today I'll be writing a brief description of one of the biggest markets in Akwa ibom state ITAM MARKET

Itam Market here is the one of the oldest market in Akwa ibom state where it was formerly referred to as timber market because it was only building material that was sold there. Itam Market is located in Itam clan in Itu LGA,Akwa ibom state.

Itam market have several areas of different categories of goods or products you want to buy , it have areas for clothing, jewelry, provisions and beverages etc . Itam market is always open everyday but have a particular fixed day known as the Itam market day, the itam market day is a particular day that's scheduled weekly to enable the coming together of people various state to make sales

Whenever it's the weekly market day person from various state in my country always come around to make sales because the market is always over clouded whenever it's the market day. The igbos in particular from Abia state ,imo state ,Enugu state,also Ebonyi state indigen always comes around whenever it's the Market day to sell various goods like , clothing materials,food stuffs and other items at the market.

I must say the Akwa Ibom state government has really put more effort on enhancing a good looking environment for the Itam market traders. The market is said to be one of the good market around with Lighting which market can be sold at night 🌃 , and most important is the cleaning aspect of the market ,whereby there's a standby stand outside the market for disposal of waste and this is the provision of the state government to make the market clean and neat

Today wasn't the weekly market day so that's why people are abit scanty in the market .But trust me thousands of people from different states and within the state always visit the market every market day .The Market is popularly referred to as "Urua Itam" in my native language
