RE: Part two, the bus ticket
Yes, that's right. I even calculated it, if a bus has 50 seats and all their 5 buses a day are full, as the bus was full then, from that destination alone, the company can potentially get 4000 BGN cash, which is roughly 2000 Euro cash, which can be used for anything but paying taxes. 2,000 euros per day may not seem like a lot, but in fact it is only from one 140km destination in the country, while they serve lines even abroad. I can't believe things are so obvious...
Some of that definitely goes for "protection" payments, I bet. It them all goes in circles, hence the poorest and most corrupted EU country!

I was told several times before that the situation in the country is terrible, in terms of corruption, abuse of power, etc. but I thought to myself, Well, how terrible it can be?
Now in recent days I happened to study a political case from more than 10 years ago, and from reading so many materials on and around the subject, I can see for myself that things are really scary, it's just that people don't delve into these things because their lives are already difficult. It's more life-saving not to think about these things, but to just try to push through without straining yourself further. I don't know if this is the right strategy...
