A Day Exploring History in Mahebourg with Rheem!
Some time back, I once again had the chance to visit Mahebourg with my daughter.
It was a SIMPLE PLAN : explore some of our island’s rich history and spend quality time together.
Memorials / Statues / Writings
After doing some work/delivery near Mahebourg, we started our day at the Grand Port naval battle site, where I showed her the small but meaningful memorial dedicated to this incredible piece of history.
It was fun walking around reading on the memorials about what happened back then…
Perfect Weather…
With the lovely weather that day...the photos came out amazing!!! Check out some of my best shots that day…
Calm Sea Now…how about back then!?!?
It’s amazing to think that this battle is such an important chapter of our island’s past, and it felt great to share it with her.
We stopped to admire the calm of the sea and imagined what it must have been like back then, during the intensity of the battle.
Learning Made in a fun way…and it always works!
Throughout the day, I tried to explain things in a fun and simple way. Seeing her curiosity and excitement made me realize how important it is to pass on these stories to the next generation.
It was more than just a history lesson; it was a day filled with laughter, discovery, and connection. I hope these moments stay with her as she grows, just like they will stay with me.
Each of the photos in this post tells its own story of a beautiful day in Mahebourg.
So happy to have been able to write my first full post for the new initiative of my good friend and witness @pennsif : #steem-atlas
Hope you have the chance visiting my island soon!
My family and I will surely welcome you here in our small paradise.
Wish you well
