I had the occasion to work across the street from a Frito-Lay plant that made Fritos corn chips. It wasn't that big of a place. Made all the Fritos for a huge area like California, Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona. One guy working the frier.
I used to take the refer to places in Idaho, load the potatoes in, done with a conveyor, And take to a Lays Potato Chip plant in Northern California.
We opened the doors on the back of the trailer. Backed the truck onto a lift. We sat in the tractor and the whole truck was lifter at a 45 to 60 degrees angle. All the potatoes rolled out the back into a big conveyor pit. It was like an amusement park ride. Then they lowered the truck and off we went. Truck after truck did that and the plant was huge.
Same thing with grain in Coors plant in Colorado and several Budweiser plants across the USA. They were huge.
