Steem Electrical Business - Official/financial update #19 [6th May, 2023]
Hi friends,
Few days ago, steemelectricals account was updated with a very important information concerning the registration of business name, it was further stated that this account would be used to collect money for the "Steem lighting Africa" project.
One other thing that was necessary was to clearly show how monies collected on this account are going to be divided between "Steemelectrical business" and the "Steem lighting Africa" project, this is for clarity and transparency in respect to all the donors.
Will beneficiaries to @steemelectricals be for "Steemelectricals business" or for the "Steem lighting Africa" project?
Answer
Since the 5000 Steem that was moved out from this account last year was later used for the first Steem lighting Africa project. The manager of Steemelectricals @ubongudofot would use his money to still continue with this business plan/arrangement. (More of where the money would be coming from will be discussed on his personal account).
However, the funds at hand to kickstart the business would still need a little push up since prices of many things have changed over the year since this business plans/arrangement was introduced.
Amount needed to complete
Additional 1,300 Steem would be needed to kickstart this business.
Here are the reasons:
- Shop rent in a good strategic location is very high in Uyo which happens to be the location of this business, it's higher than what was budgeted last year for rent. It's almost two times the budgeted price of last year which was 1500 Steem according to the introductory post. And policy here from most landlords is to pay for two years on the first payment.
So, the rent price is now 1,747,878 naira which is equivalent to about 3,300 Steem - that's for shop rent and the agent fee (This amount is for two years shop rent).
- The business name has been registered and tax fee (130 Steem) paid which was not part of arrangement before. The manager was advised to register, otherwise someone might be using the name too, and if that person involves in fraud, the business would be at risk - since we are bearing the same name.
- The prices of goods (electrical components and solar components) are way higher than the amount that was budgeted as at last year when Steemelectricals was introduced. Simply put, the business capital is no longer the 5350 Steem that was budgeted.
5350 Steem cannot even buy 15 panels, battery...and charge controllers, not to talk of electricals...😀. So the trading capital is now 23,000 Steem approximately. But never too worry, we have that amount at hand off-chain.(Much about how this amount is gotten would be explained on @ubongudofot's account)
However, in Steemelectricals account, after exchanging 68 SBD yesterday being 5th May, 2024 , we now have 944 Steem.
That means, out of the 1300 Steem we are looking for, we have 944 Steem - which means we would be needing 356 Steem to complete the 1300 Steem in other to kickstart this business ASAP.
After the business is establish, updates about Steemelectricals physical business and how it is going would be made here monthly.

Out of 1,300 Steem which is our main target to kick-off this project, we have raised 944 Steem , so we are still in need of 356 Steem as an outstanding balance to complete this target, it's not far to get there again.
