RE: Update 4: Handing-over ceremony

It is such a great feeling to see that YOU managed to realize this project!!!!
As your sister said, “proud” is a correct expression! Yes, you can be terribly, terribly proud! I am proud to know you, a person with wonderful dreams that she realizes in adverse circumstances. The handful of Nigerians who attended your event should be proud to support you on the ground.

Why so few? Don't dozens of Steemians live in Uyo?! Couldn't they have used the opportunity to support you and (at least) represent the Steem?
I don't even want to mention all the names. Maybe they are reading this without mention and are ashamed.

Yes, it's a shame how little attention is paid to each other here, how little such real projects are appreciated. Well, I guess everyone is busy “learning”...

Anyway, don't be upset! It was an epochal day, it was YOUR day, it was a day to be happy and PROUD!
Congratulations from the bottom of my heart!!!

Hi Chriddi,

I came across your comment while exploring, and I felt it was important to respond. Although you didn’t mention my name, you did say at least represent Steem, and as an SR, I should have attended, right?

If you check my history, I've been a strong supporter of this project until around the end of August last year. At that time, I was organizing a meet-up and copied the organizer of this charity, who was still one of my Country Representatives. To my surprise, he outright told me to untag him because he does not support any form of promotion in Nigeria. It made me question the purpose of the charity work I've been advocating. What would you call that? Hypocrisy, right?

If you were in my shoes, how would you feel?

Anyway, regarding the event before last, I personally invited others in my city, but my efforts were met with indifference. Pretty disappointing, right?

I consider myself a free-spirited person; I love Steem and always support initiatives that contribute to the growth and benefit of this great platform. However, I also value my integrity and self-worth above all. Therefore, I will only engage where I feel recognized and appreciated.

Hi Goody,
no, you don't have to feel addressed, at most as one of “dozens of Steemians in Uyo”. I really wasn't thinking of you personally or SR in general. I was thinking of many, many Steemians living in Uyo. A great many. A large crowd represented (without being called “SR”). A large crowd of Steemians in blue t-shirts.... Wow!!! “Who made this project reality? Steemians? Who or what is Steem?” - “We!!!!” (shouts the crowd). Yes, that would have been representative...

I don't know anything about the story you want to tell me and I have the feeling it's none of my business. I just see someone who has managed to raise funds for a great project and then actually make it happen.

I'm a little surprised that you came across my comment while exploring, but didn't address a word or a vote to the author of this article. How do you find comments like that just like that? Well, I guess that's none of my business either.

Have a nice day.

Oh, you're right; it's not proper to form a busybody on people's matters. Well, I'm a good reader; sometimes I used to devote a day to reading only, and when I came across this post on someone's blog, I decided to read it, and that's how I found your comment. I just responded to you because you were raising questions about Uyo City Steemians, which I am among. I know you might not have had me in mind when you commented, but another user out there may stumble over the comment and think otherwise; that's why I stated my reasons, but that's just by the way.

Do have a great day and happy happy 7th anniversary!

happy 7th anniversary

Thank you... 😊
To be honest, I don't care for this anniversary at all. I only care that the children in Uganda won't starve. My “birthday” is a good occasion to collect donations. Donations for Uganda, 1 STEEM for Uganda. You are welcome to attend my party, but you have to bring 1 STEEM... 😉

Awww, sure, I would love to attend, but the truth is that I don't really get the game. I want to ask, should I send the Steem directly to your wallet or how?
