Payout??? how that really works?

Help wanted about payouts. I've read many posts about that but none gave me the answer I am looking for.
The situations :
I have a post saying it's worth 180 steems one week ago.
OK nice... so I read about how to have these steems in my wallet and convert them to Steem dollars...
I read that in 24hours i can have the money... but didn't know how to do... So please if somebody could help my total ignorance about how this works... It would be more than appreciate. After 2 weeks it fells to 140 steems... i really don't have a clue about how all this works...

HELP HELP ;)

Posts pay out after 2 time periods. The first is 24 hours but can be extended by the voting. The second is 30 days.
The amount you see on a thread is an estimate what the thread pays out.
At payout %75 goes to the author divided equally between SBD and Steem Power with %25 going to curators who voted in the form of Steem Power.
Steem Power is what gives your votes weight. You can power down and receive payments in the form of steem over 104 weeks.
Both steem and SBD can be sold on exchanges for other cryptocurrencies like bitcoin. Bitcoin can be converted to fiat.
