Steemdollars Sent to Wrong Account.
Do you think there is anyway to recover Steemdollars that have been mistakenly sent to the wrong account?
I was watching a video that helped me figure everything out!
I was ready to enter my the Steemdollars memo into my wallet, when I thought it would be a great idea to ask for some assistance from a real person rather then just from a video.
At this point everything went down hill.
I realized that steam needed to be converted to Bitcoin. Because of this I was so happy to find the video explaining steam to bit conversion I mentioned above. Then a friend already thought I had bit when I was mentioning the shift debit card. He kept saying just use coinbase. ( I was still trying to get my steem converted.)So I thought I could skip the Poloniex step. I had been trying to find this piece to the puzzle and was ready to use it. Then suddenly wanted to skip the step . Even though before the video nothing made since as I knew I needed to make a conversion. I thought I could just skip a step and lost 10 steem dollars! I'm really not happy with this $11usd mistake!! Why does steemit allow for transfers to occurs even if they are to failed accounts? Do you think there is a way to recover Steemdollars that have been cast into the wind?
I don't believe there is a way to send steem or sbd to a non-created account. It should be an error if this occurs. Is this the transfer to coinbase that you made for 10 SBD?
Yeah the transfer was for 10 SBD into my coinbase account. Its a created account but cannot accept Steemdollars. The SBD It have left my wallet and not returned yet.
If you think you could help that would be great.

That coinbase account is not controlled by coinbase. Sorry to say that your SBD was lost and is now in control of whomever owns the coinbase account. Just because you send it to your coinbase account with your btc address doesn't mean anything.
However, upvoted your comments, so that you have not lost out (fortunately, my vote is about 10 apiece).
Please try to be more safe in the future when you transfer your SBD around and verify that you are sending it to whom you want!
Thank you for for the vote. Really appreciate your understanding. I'm happy I learned my lesson on a small amount of SBD. Yikes!
i also just did this with 1.3 BTC worth of Steem. Do we think there's hope of getting it back?
I highly doubt it, Ben. Make a post about it. Spread the word to get it so that people don't make the same mistake that you did.
