There actually used to be a weekly competition called "open mic night". Sadly, it stopped a while back. Perhaps a competition like open mic night might be worthwhile to run again.
I intend to run a few posting challenges in the #classical-music category in the coming weeks to try to encourage people to post in the category since my father (@remlaps) will be curating it along with the Stem category as a community curator (He will not be using the account to vote for me if I choose to participate). Perhaps a competition element could be added, though I only intended to try to encourage people to post.
I do think competitions are a good way to increase the value of this platform, and I would be glad to help if I can.

Yes OpenMic was good. Uncertain if there are enough musicians on Steem at the moment to make it happen? What do you think?
Pleas do tag @steemcurator01 on any contests and challenges so we don't miss them.
Also if you can mention to your father to put a confirmation of acceptance comment on the Community Curators post if he hasn't already that would be great.
