Proposal: Using Steem as a Social DA to connect Web2 platforms with Smart Contract systems

01 Background

Farcaster, as a decentralized social protocol, works alongside the Base chain to provide comprehensive services to users. For more details, see "This week on Base: Base is for everyone." Farcaster has also secured $150 million in funding at a $1 billion valuation.

Within such an ecosystem, Farcaster serves as the social DA layer, combining with the Base chain to create a larger cryptocurrency ecosystem.

02 Social DA

Since 2018, when the TagAI team began developing the WhereIN DApp (http://www.wherein.io/), the team has highly recognized the mechanism and role of Steem. Whether it is developing Nutbox, Wormhole3, or TagAI, the team has consistently used the Steem blockchain as a social DA, integrating it with other smart contract systems.

We have always believed that social DAs like Steem act as a bridge between Web2 platforms and smart contract systems. As a trusted data layer, social DAs can enable billions of Web2 users to seamlessly enter the cryptocurrency world. With a large user base, we can build thousands of applications based on the data generated by communities.

TagAI separates the trusted data layer from the settlement layer, enabling Steem to support almost all blockchains with smart contracts. This also allows Web2 users who haven't installed wallets to interact with blockchains simply by posting with "#TagAI."

In the first step, user-generated content and social interaction data on Web2 social platforms can be pre-stored in the social DA, becoming trusted data. TagAI's data is stored on the Steem blockchain, as shown at https://steemit.com/created/hive-150943.

In the second step, users can utilize wallets to settle related assets within blockchain systems.

This solution, which separates the settlement layer from trusted data, enables users to skip the need for cryptocurrency wallets in the first step while achieving efficient operations on a fully decentralized foundation.

03 Tag it and Interact with Blockchain

Based on TagAI's social oracle, Twitter API, and TagAI social accounts, any user can "Tag" directly on X (formerly Twitter), and their data will be stored on Steem (the social DA layer).

The Tag commands (actions) can include deploy, mint, on-chain commands, tip, swap, vote, etc.

Without the need for a wallet, any X user can interact with the blockchain through a single post. Below are examples of common operations:

1.3.1 Tag to Deploy Tokens

For example, post content on X with the command "@TagAIDAO #deploy":

TagAI's service will help the poster deploy tokens and mint an initial 100,000 tokens.

Once the deployer links their X account with a wallet address and pays the deployment and initial minting fees, they will receive the 100,000 tokens.

1.3.2 Tag to Post On-Chain and Earn Token Rewards

Users can also post content to an on-chain community by including "#TagAI #ticker" in their posts.

If community members approve the on-chain post, they can 🔥 it. The community's smart contract will distribute tokens to both the content creator and the users who 🔥 the post based on an algorithm.

1.3.3 Tag for Tip to Reach

Tip to Reach is a great way for community projects to connect with influencers (KOLs). Community members can reply to their favorite KOL's post with "@TagAIDAO tip #ticker," and the post will appear in the community. Based on the 🔥 received from community members, both the post's creator and those who 🔥 it will earn community tokens.

With the support of the social oracle, users can also "post an image + #mintNFT" on X to mint an NFT or reply to a tweet with "0.1 BNB" to purchase 0.1 BNB worth of a MemeCoin.

Web2 platforms like X serve as interaction layers, seamlessly bringing Web2 users into the crypto world while creating an attention network centered around social creation and interaction, involving billions of participants.

04 AI Agent and Proof of Brain

With the power of AI, TagAI allows X users to issue assets simply by posting a tweet. This greatly lowers the threshold for asset issuance.

More importantly, the assets are issued by AI, with the asset's ticker and image also generated by AI. Humans only need to post a tweet to launch an on-chain community. Even the tweet itself can be generated by AI.

After assets are issued, tokens flow through transaction records, while community data spreads through posts. TagAI leverages Steem (the social DA) to make these posts trusted data, combining them with token distribution to achieve this.

The data in Steem (the social DA) is input into the community's AI Agent, updating its corresponding modules and driving its evolution. Community-driven AI Agents can autonomously create content, interact socially, and participate in the PoB (Proof of Brain) mechanism (🔥 community content) to determine the distribution of community tokens.

During the evolution of community-driven AI Agents, the community automatically distributes tokens to contributors based on the community data stored in Steem (the social DA) and the PoB (Proof of Brain) mechanism.

This means that once community assets are issued, an on-chain community is created, and the community data generated on X spreads within Steem (the social DA). They function like self-organizing entities.

05 A Community-Powered World

In a "bottom-up" community-driven autonomous world, anyone can initiate a small world. It is as simple as posting a tweet.

Once a community is created, it relies on humans and AI in social networks like X, connected to Steem (the social DA), to drive it. A certain proportion of tokens (15% for communities created using TagAI) will be automatically distributed to contributors by the protocol and mechanism. Such communities are self-organizing and develop autonomously with the support of AI and blockchain.

As multi-human and multi-AI participants build open communities around the protocol through Steem on X and fairly receive rewards, a community-governed world will gradually take shape.

At this point, the vision of Steem 2.0 — Smart Media Token — is about to be realized.

06 Steem Value Capture

As a social DA supporting billions of users, every user needs to register a Steem account, whether through third-party registration (the method currently used by TagAI) or self-registration.

Meanwhile, all participants performing specific actions on Web2 platforms (e.g., posting with #TagAI) need to either have a third party stake STEEM on their behalf or stake it themselves.

Furthermore, we can utilize Steem's custom_json to build a Layer 2 network, helping communities bridge tokens to the Steem Layer 2. This allows them to easily leverage Steem's Active permission delegation mechanism to directly tip cryptocurrencies on Web2 social networks.

TagAI's development will directly promote Steem as an indispensable part of blockchains like BNBChain, Solana, Base Chain, and Tron, with $STEEM being widely used.

07 Development Plan and Budget

TagAI has preliminarily integrated Steem as a social DA with BNBChain, Base Chain, and others, and has launched on tagai.fun and tiptag.social.

In the future, TagAI will:

{01} Support the integration of Tron and Solana with Steem.
{02} Support crypto communities on BNBChain, Base Chain, Tron, and Solana to create Hivemind communities on Steem.
{03} Develop Steem Layer based on Steem-Engine to support cross-chain community tokens on Steem and enable tipping in social media through comments.
{04} Integrate Steem with Web2 platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Reddit as interaction layers.

08 Funding Details

TagAI has been using its own funds for related development, including Nutbox, Wormhole3, and TagAI. Further development requires funding from Steem:

Based on the current SBD exchange rate (1 SBD = 0.7067 USDT), this equals 2825.66 SBD per month or 94.19 SBD per day.

09 Final Words

Since 2018, the TagAI team has been continuously developing applications and tools on Steem. Our application, WhereIN, was long the unofficial No. 1 client on the Steem blockchain.

TagAI, as a community launch platform driven by AI and blockchain, not only aligns with the vision of Steem 2.0 but will also significantly promote the integration of Steem with smart contract blockchains, presenting a great opportunity to make Steem great again.
