Announcement - Visualize the Internal STEEM SBD Exchange

The internal exchange on Steemit allows you exchange STEEM for SBD and SBD for STEEM at no cost. That's right, its free to use. However the information provided is limited, making it difficult for informed decisions to be made.

To help you make a better decision when trading STEEM and SBD we have created an interactive tool so you can visualize the market with more detail.

Announcement - Master Exclusion/Blacklist checker

There are many people working behind the scenes on the STEEM blockchain to keep it free from spam, plagiarism, cheaters, scammers & phishers. Some of these have made their blacklists available.

We have combined the blacklist from @msp @cheetah @steemclearners and @buildawhale to create a master blacklist file.

However our list is not just a blacklist, it is an exclusion list for @steemcommunity and any support we will be offering will not be available to these accounts.

In addition to the blacklists, @paulag searches the data for trends which quickly identify possible bot activity, multiple account holders, service accounts, resteem accounts, as well as Spam accounts and circle jerks. All off these accounts are added to her exclusion list and included with our Master Blacklist/ Exclusion list.

You are free to search the list, and if you feel you are wrongly outcast then you can contact the blacklist provider. Please contact @paulag on steemit for the exclusion list.

*if you have a blacklist or even a bad behavior list and would like to share it with us, please contact @paulag

Over the next few weeks we will be improving on these tools and stay tuned because we may have even more!

I have been looking at ways to integrate my existing online Excel and Power BI teaching business with Steemit. Recently I set up my brand with an account on Steemit @theexcelclub and I have uploaded a full course.

The course is Basic Excel for Basic bookkeeping and is suitable for anyone that needs to learn the basic of Excel or how to carry out basic bookkeeping in Excel. This course is highly popular on my own site and I would encourage you to share it with anyone you know that may be just starting their career in an office. It is hosted on DLive so anyone with a social media profile can interact with the videos without the need for a Steemit account.

You can find the first lesson here

On Tuesday 19th June I will be hosting a webinar on DLive. In this webinar you will learn how to use Excel to gather your income information from the Steemit blockchain. This is a trial webinar and if successful I will be inviting my non-Steemit Excel following to a webinar the following week.

Sounds Interesting - tell me more?

Thanks again for your kind support and for your time today,

Asher and Paula.

Why is @spl on your blacklist "exclusion" list?

This explains how our Communities support completely died. Can you guys please right this horrendous wrong ... like, now?

And @paulag, please put checks in place so you guys don't go around killing off the few projects that actually produce for the Steem Community.

We carefully manually curated a whitelist of over 1,100 players from nearly 10k applicants and we make damn sure we don't make mistakes with large Communities. I would expect the same from any other "Community" project.

How on Earth an 1,100 Steem Member Community got on this list is the question.

Thanks!

P.S. Pardon my tude, but it's hard enough to make a project succeed without this kind of blackballing going on.

It’s particularly troubling when a community like the @spl is lumped into this:

There are many people working behind the scenes on the STEEM blockchain to keep it free from spam, plagiarism, cheaters, scammers & phishers. Some of these have made their blacklists available.

It doesn’t matter if you try to qualify it by claiming that “multiple account holders” are also necessarily bad and worthy of blacklisting. And it’s extremely hypocritical to make this association, given that this @steemcommunity account is itself an evil duplicate worthy of blacklisting, if we used her logic.

I have already used the information presented here to make a decision. And I have decided that this blacklist is worthless since the creator(s) can’t be bothered with making informed/rational judgments on what bad actors are or how they categorize these lists and tie communities in with spammers and scammers.

Unless these horrid mistakes/decisions are evaluated and corrected, I will simply add @steemcommunity and associated “duplicate” accounts to my personal blacklist. Others can curate based on that data if they choose.

In fact...I will work on my own blacklist of shitbags. I will release it to the public soon.

I was supporting @steemcommunity as a witness...That is over as of now. I was supporting @paulag and @abh12345. I have unfollowed both. I usually only flag plagiarists, scammers and the like. Today you have joined that club. Anyone who puts out this kind of obvious drivel without checking how it worked is not fit to run for witness. Unfortunately, @abh12345 is lumped in with this. I hope someone comes to their senses and issues a retraction or correction of this flawed piece of work.

This is dumb.. been here.. done my time and put in work only to be "blacklisted" by a bot and for what reason.. I can only guess.. and it's probably something just plain dumb.

well said - I am also a bad boy it seems

In addition to the blacklists, @paulag searches the data for trends which quickly identify possible bot activity, multiple account holders, service accounts, resteem accounts, as well as Spam accounts and circle jerks. All off these accounts are added to her exclusion list and included with our Master Blacklist/ Exclusion list.

I'm proud to say I also made it to the list as a paulag exclusion, and so has Schattenjaeger and a certain Ats-david.

Could somebody put a stop to this comic duo, please?

Be proud - I discovered I am also on their black list - surprised a bit but who care about that "steemcommunity" account - bad behaviour is compiling nonsense and this is what I see here.

I'm proud to say I also made it on the list as a paulag exclusion (sounds wonderful), which indicates to me both it and she are full of shit. Could somebody put a stop to this comic duo, please?

Repeated because I mis-placed it the first time. Sorry about that.

Ya. By removing their witness votes from these jokers.

You have accounts like @nextgencrypto and @timcliff and @ned and even @paulag on this "exclusion list". Maybe you're damaging your own credibility by having 95k Steemit accounts on an evidently arbitrary shit-list.

I’m wondering if she even checks on what her bot is adding to her “list.”

Nobody this sloppy/careless/reckless gets my witness vote, that's for sure.

@paulag I suggest you take a long hard look at whatever code you're using to add pretty much every active account on Steemit to your shit-list, because this post is public, your list is public, and the community will take a giant shit on you.

So ya, I flagged this post for abuse. Because that's all it is.

paulagfail.png

But she's an Excel expert!

Eagerly awaiting your shit list. In Excel, of course.

Good that this list is so accurate:

I wondered why most accounts have been added here but glad that your witness partner is there :))

It's because she is an Excel expert.

99% of whole steemit is on your blacklist... oldies and reputable members including...
let me guess, every1 who diddnt vote for your witness is on this list? :)))

WTH - I am on the black list as @paulag exclusion - are you kidding me - why? And you add @spl to the black list - seem at least a strange list if I may so but we have tons of idiots out here so one has to move on ignoring some people that claim to do sth for community ..........

Have you not consider using Whitelist instead of Blacklist? The blacklist is a good feature but will only slow down malicious users but not totally prevent them. Tomorrow, they will create a new account do the same task over again and the tool will only discover them after days of havoc.

In information security, I build whitelist to allow those approved users so we can maintain a sanitize community. This may not be applicable to steemit community just throwing some ideas.

Cheers to you SteemCommunity.

We do have a bigger plan which would include a whitelist. Its nuts how quick new accounts are being created with malicious intent and so hard to catch all of them. One step at a time, we will get there :-)

Cheers to you dear.

What's plan

@paulag, your on your own blacklist!

unknown.png

Somebody told me that you put me on a black list ?!?! Could you explain why ????

Hey @mammasitta

Last month we produced a list that contained many of our supporters, including ourselves.

The goal was to at some point in the future hold a list of each person's main account. After an update to the list, if you or anyone had multiple accounts, then it would make you appear on the list. We didn't have the complete process in place for getting removed, other than seeing your accounts there and saying 'hey, this is my main account, the others are for x y z.

Clearly there are some flaws in this approach, as for example, people create accounts for others.

After some 'strong' feedback, we took the list down. The list was not 'active', it was not use to downvote/ignore anyone, and it no longer exists. We will let someone else delve into Steemit's proposed 'Oracles' and see if they can learn from our mistakes.

I hope that the work I/we have done in the past year is considered when deciding if we are doing an OK job.

My apologies for any frustration/anger caused.

Thank you so much for the new tools @steemcommunity.

I wish there was some way I could block people on the exclusion list from interacting with my account but I'm assuming that's not possible. Is that correct?

Being able to see the SBD/Steem relationship over time will help me make better powering up decisions. For the last couple of months I've just been waiting for the rate to get back to 1:1 which, of course, it hasn't.

Thanks for all you do here! 😊

Are you sure? They put me on their blacklist, me, the Most Righteous Steemian Ever.

Is this reply to me @ocrdu. In which case, in answer to your question, no I'm not sure given some of the comments in this thread.

and, I've just checked and both @abh12345 and @paulag are on the exclusion list and so am I. 😂

In fact, as I skimmed through I noticed a number of upstanding Steemians I'm in regular contact with that are on the list.

So, obviously something is a little off! 😁

No doubt it will get sorted. If it doesn't I'm not too bothered since I only appear on the exclusion list and on none of the others.

And thank you for your support Gill :)

The best approach is to ignore accounts - they can't be stopped from interacting, but you can make them invisible to you :)

The rate is getting better, slowly. I'm not sure if it will get to 1:1 though, as I expect (but could be totally wrong) SBD to fall to $1, and STEEM to range around this price before starting a new upward trend. Last time though, SBD led the way, and so it could be worth keeping some in case history repeats itself.

Cheers!

I'm not sure about getting better @abh12345. It seems to have been stuck around 0.77 for a while now.

Ah Hang on. Isn't there a new tool to check that assumption? 😂

. . . I'm a bit confused though. I just checked the tool and is says the last exchange rate was 1.3 but in terms of what I'd get it's actually 0.77 so the tool is obviously not showing me what I thought it was.

I though it was showing how much Steem my SBD would buy me over time. What it is actually showing?

I think your'e right about the spam accounts lessening. I seem to be getting fewer following me but then that maybe one of the positive aspects of the Steem price dropping I suppose. 😊

I power a bit up every day and have watched the exchange rate come down/closer over the past month or so - that's my tool :)

the .77 or 1.29, depending on how you look at it is the live rate, not an 'over time' period. I think that's what you are asking?

Low price - less spammers, we like that :D

No. The 'over time' period I was referring to was the whole graph from left to right. Where the confusion is is how I read the graph the rate should be 1.29 but in actual fact is it only 0.77.

i don't understand where you get 1.29 from. If I could get 1.29 Steem for 1 SBD I would happily be powering up! 😁

Hope that's clearer @abh12345!

its .77 steem for 1 SBD, and 1.29 SBD for 1 STEEM :)

OK. It took me a while but now I get it @abh12345. Thank you!

I only ever powerup so I'm only interested, right now, in how much Steem I can get for my SBD.

Would it be possible to create a similar graph that showed that relationship over time as well?

Well, obviously, it's possible but is it quite easy to do? Is it just a question of reversing the numbers?

I'd love to see what that looks like.

And . . . I think I'll go back to doing what you're doing and power up a little SBD each day. I always used to do that, but once the exchange rate dropped I stopped.

Maybe Paula's tool will help? :)

http://steemcommunity.org/steemit-internal-market-visualization/

If you power up a little each day, you'll never win big or miss out big. SBD could go to $1 or $5 tomorrow, but as long as you are doing it bit by bit then the swings are not important :)

haha I have been reading the conversation with you and asher and I better step in to clear things up. I have just updated the lables on the charts. is priced STEEM/SBD so 1 steem will costs you 1.28 sbd at the moment. its the price of 1 STEEM.

Is it possible to add the chart the other way too @paulag?

I'm most interested in the price the other way because I only power up. So I'd love to see SBD to Steem. 😊

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that follows it that way round more than the other way. Or maybe other people are able to turn the other one around in their heads. 😂

I can, will do it during the week :-)

No probs if you don't find the time @paulag. I know you've got a lot on your plate at the moment. 😊
