Thanks @oflyhigh. Very useful. A couple of questions if I may?
1 ) The estimated account value we see in our wallets (which your tool replicates) is stated to be in US dollars "The estimated value is based on an average value of Steem in US dollars."
Is it in fact in SBD (so close to USD generally but not the same)?
2 ) Where does the SBD / STEEM conversion rate come from. Is it from the witnesses? Do you know how they obtain it?

1: You are right, in fact the estimated value in our wallet is in SBD.
From FAQ:
2: The system use current median history price to convert estimate the sbd value of steem.
You can use API
get_current_median_history_priceto obtain it, or check it from steemd.comTo note that quote is not always 1 steem.
The feed price is from the witnesses.
Yes, and as a witness myself, I can tell you we are mostly pulling our price feeds from Bittrex. Used to be Poloniex but there price was not that accurate of overall performance so majority starting to use Bittrex price now
