I recommend you use steemconnect. It is easier and you remain in control of the account. All you need is enough steem to open it. There is a post here for more info ( not my post) https://steemit.com/news/@timcliff/new-tool-from-busy-org-create-new-steem-blockchain-accounts-with-steemconnect
Edit: you only need 6 steem to open account. I am transfering 6 steem so you can open it through steemconnect and start the project for parents. I will help as much as I can
