Sad to know the shutdown of steemconnect. I'll personally recommend using SteemLogin as an replacement.

There're other forks, such as http://steemconnect.cocozl.cn/, which is enhanced and being used by Chinese community (source code: https://github.com/steem-driver/steemconnect), could also be used temporarily if you trust the service provider.

Security Warning:

• As mentioned above in the post, you'll need to trust the service provider such as SteemLogin, since steemconnect by design will bring security issues if not well deployed and audited. By its kind of centralized design, the @steemconnect account will be able to control the posting authorities of all its users (including users of busy.org and Partiko) if it wants to do evil.
• For the same reason, I'll recommend all DApp developers who used steemconnect to revoke their authorization to @steemconnect before June 1st, to avoid potentially harming its users: https://steemlogin.com/revoke/steemconnect
