Greetings fellow geeks and nerds, Steemians new and old! Please feel free to make use of this thread on ChainBB to introduce yourself to the community, or feel free to create a new thread of your own if you'd like to expound at greater lengths!

This post is the start of a discussion thread for the official Steem Comic Convention Forum. It is best viewed via the ChainBB service, here.

I'll kick things off here with my own introduction!

Hey everybody, I'm Bryan Imhoff. You can find me on all Steem based sites as @bryan-imhoff. I'm also the founder of the Steem Comic Convention ( @steem-comic-con ), my own little Spotty Production comic studio ( @spottyproduction ) and I sometimes enjoy writing comics reviews and discussion through a column I call Exploring the Unlimited ( @exploreunlimited ).

I'll keep things short and sweet, for more detail you can always dig into the archives of my blogs!

I started my lifelong love of comics around the age of 5, with a few issues that have left serious impressions on my brain. Became a "serious" collector at 8, and have continued to collect off and on as I've been able to, having long since passed into the realm of "adulthood." (Boo!)

Not long after I started reading comics, I decided I wanted to make them for a living. I'm still making them, just haven't mastered the "living off" part of the equation. In my early 20's I self published a horror comic called Seer, I've dabbled in webcomics with Appetite for Distraction, and I'm currently working on a fantasy adventure I like to call "I Thought It Would Be Zombies..."

I was fortunate to start on Steem fairly early. I'll forever beam with pride at having account #36,926. I see tremendous potential in Steem for both the realization of my dreams and goals, and the dreams and goals of so many others. I get a thrill out of sharing and being rewarded for my content, and in discovering and rewarding the art and writing of others in return - all things that I hope to do a lot more of through the Steem Comic Convention. Hope to see you all involved!

My name is Katharsisdrill and has been so for about 3 years. Before that I was a boring fine art artist for many years and before that I was a child that loved comics.

As I keep watertight bulkheads between my Katharsisdrill works and my previous art (that was not that boring after all) I will only talk about the things I have made as Katharsisdrill, which is mainly the now 39 page long-story about Phill from GCHQ , a story about a shy surveillance officer in the British equivalent of NSA, whose tranquil but lonely life is roused by three, evil Celtic Gods.

Here's the link for the Phill from GCHQ website.

I'll try to remember to use this group...

Just want is the goal of this Comic Convention? Are you just looking for people that know how to make comic books or for potential readers/buyers also?

We're definitely looking to include comic readers, collectors, and beyond! It was decided to use the conceptual framework of a comic convention so that this early community could include all of the facets of comics and pop culture enthusiasm combined. This is extra critical currently as the overall Steem user base at this early stage is vastly smaller than other social media. In the future sub groups and more specialized spinoffs may form for certain purposes, such as creators, cosplayers, collectors, etc. but for now we can all greatly enjoy each others company and support!
