The Substance of the Scriptures
John 1:7, 14 ”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word was made hesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Jesus Christ is the Word of God made flesh, which means that all the thoughts of God are encapsulated in Him. He is the full expression of all of God's fullness. All of God's thoughts, will, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, power and cognitive abilities are domiciled in Him. Therefore the revelation of Jesus Christ is the revelation of the fullness of God unto us.
it is the Word of God that gives us light of who God is. it is the Word of God that reveals God to you, and today's opening Scripture shows us clearly that Jesus Christ is the Word of God. Jesus also told the Pharisees in John 5:39 ”Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” in other words, He was telling them that He is the substance of the Scriptures. This means that every time the Scriptures are unveiled, Jesus Christ is revealed; and when He is revealed, you can take possession of all of God's will, thoughts and purposes for you; you take possession of your inheritance in Christ, for He is the substance and revelation of all of God's blessings to humanity. Beloved, all you will ever come to know of God is by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ revealed is the fullness of God made manifest. He is full of grace and truth.
John 5: 38-39 "And you have not His word (His thought) living in your hearts, because you do not believe and adhere to and trust in and rely on Him Whom He has sent. [That is why you do not keep His message living in you, because you do not believe in the Messenger Whom He has sent.]
You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me
Every 'revelation‘ of the Word that is not consistent with the character of Jesus and His . substitutionary work at Calvary, is not of God; and cannot deliver the fulness of God to us. This is the reason why the learning of the Word begins at Christ; learning the Word in the light of who He is, what He has done for us at Calvary, and what He is doing in us by the Spirit.

We are all sinners in desperate need of salvation, which only comes through repentance and faith in Jesus. We abide in Jesus through spiritual exercises and we all embrace the activity of faith.
The gentleman, as you mention in your publication, tells us that by searching the scriptures it seems to you that we have life. The scriptures give us the divine knowledge that God wants to transmit to our lives ... if we do not have that knowledge we will be easy prey for the enemy, as expressed by Hosea 4: 6
