The original design of the marriage
The original design of the marriage
1.-God created man first. Gn. 2: 7-8,15.
The Bible says that God created man according to his image and likeness. But he created them male and female, that is, a man and a woman, according to Genesis 1:26-27. By Genesis 2:7-15 we understand that he first created the male and placed him in a garden that he had formed. He gave him authority over the creation, but with all the control he had, he found that there was no help for him. Gn. 2:18.
2.-The woman would come to be the ideal help for man. Gn. 2:18.
The variety of trees in the garden, as well as the large number of animals, did not meet the multiple needs of Adam. He needed special help, a complement that he could share with him as a human being: a suitable help. Gn. 2: 9, 18-20.
3.-God created the woman of a part of man.Gn. 2: 21-22.
God makes a special intervention, making deep sleep fall on the man, and taking a part of the man (rib) and made a woman and gave it to the man. Gn. 2: 21-23.
4.-God was the one who established the marriage union. Gn. 2:22.
Notice that it was God who delivered Eve to Adam. A union established by God, as it should be. This is how it should be, and not a union propitiated only by the desires of the flesh. Marriage is for adult, mature people, responsible to assume with all seriousness and fidelity that commitment before God, and of men as a witness.
This is a representation of the beautiful environment of life in the Garden of Eden, a pleasant environment and free of all contamination. The man had the responsibility to work it and keep it. Genesis 2: 8-15.
5.-God designed marriage for procreation. Gn. 1:28.
< B>Children must be born under the sacred bonds of marriage. The Bible says that God blessed them "and said to them:" Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth, and rule, and rule over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth. " Gen. 1:28.
6.-Adam understood that Eve was "bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh". Gn. 2:23.
That's the way it should be. The husband must see the wife as a part of him, whom he must love, respect, as well as his own body. Ef. 5: 25,28-29.
Consider what I say, and the Lord gives you understanding in everything. 2 Ti. 2: 7.
7 Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.
8 And Jehovah God planted a garden in Eden, on the east; and put there the man he had formed. Gn. 2: 7-8.
15 So the LORD God took the man, and put him in the garden of Eden, that he might till it and keep it. Gn. 2:15.
26 Then said God: Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, over the beasts, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.
27 And God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Gn. 1: 26-27.
18 And Jehovah God said: It is not good that the man be alone; I will make him a suitable help for him. Gn. 2:18.
21 And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and while he was asleep, he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
22 And of the rib that Jehovah God took from man, he made a woman, and brought her to man. Gn. 2: 21-22.
9 And Jehovah God brought forth from the earth every tree that is delicious to the eye, and good to eat; also the tree of life in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Gn. 2: 9.
18 And Jehovah God said: It is not good that the man be alone; I will make him a suitable help for him.
19 And the LORD God formed from the earth every beast of the field, and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam, that he might see what he would call them; and everything that Adam called living animals, that is his name.
20 And Adam named all the beasts and birds of the heavens and all the cattle of the field; but for Adam there was no help found suitable for him. Gn. 2: 9,18-20.
28 And God blessed them, and said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the beasts that move on the earth. Gn. 1:28.
25 Husbands, love your women, just as Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her,
28 So husbands must love their wives as well as their own bodies. He who loves his wife, loves himself.
29 For no one has ever hated his own flesh, but sustains it and cares for it, as does Christ to the church. Ef. 5:25, 28-29.
