THINGS GOD WILL NEVER DO
source
When we contemplate God, a being that's almighty who created everything that existed we do not typically assume that there are things God cannot do. There are several things man can’t do, however there are things God can’t do. That’s right God can’t do all things. it's not as a result of he's unable to, that he's limited in power in any manner. it's due to who he's in nature. There are pointers that even God cannot step over. for instance God can't be God and not be God at the same time. He cannot produce another God from a creature that will be created equal with Him-self. The secondary God would be derived from and obsessed on the primary therefore it'd be finite. Since he had a beginning it couldn't be as powerful as its creator. one amongst the primary necessities for being God is to be uncreated, infinite, eternal, almighty and all-knowing. therefore a created god doesn't qualify for the work description of being God.
There are those that use the Scripture out of context and say God can do anything, that he's not withstrained by his nature. two scriptures used out off context Matt 19:26 "With men this is not possible, but with God all things are possible." Jesus Christ was addressing their question on people being saved that what appears not possible with man isn't with God. Luke 1:37 In addressing Virgin Mary the angel tells her she will be with child and she responds, however is this possible. The angel says "For with God nothing will be impossible." In alternative words what Virgin Mary heard from the angel had never occurred in mankind's history and she is asking to know how this will be.
So What will God not Do?
1. It's not possible for God to lie. It's not possible for God to lie, therefore he's in line with truth, that has absolutes. His customary of right and wrong doesn't change.
Heb.6:18 tells us He can’t lie = he can’t break a unconditional promise. What he says He can fulfill. he's the reality and there's no darkness in him. He cannot return on His Word.
When he told Abraham to take his only son and place him on the altar, Abraham knew that if God allowed him to have isaac killed he would have had to boost him up back to life. this is often as a result of he already promised Abraham that through isaac the promise of his Covenant would come back.
God will never send another flood over the total earth like he did in Noah's day. It’s not that he does not possess the ability; He can’t get it on because He promised He would never do it once more (the rainbow is there to remind us of this truth). God’s nature is inclined to truth, which implies He keeps His promises. If God may lie then what would make him any completely different than any sinful human being? The creator wouldn't be superior in ethics or higher in any sense.
2.Can God stop being God or stop existing?
The nature of God is infinite: that means no end, he's from everlasting to everlasting. God's unchanging ethical character may be a ethical absolute, he changes not. This includes sanctity, justice, love, mercy and truth. God is who he's forever and is the only constant thing (being) within the universe. solely created things subject to time and space that are of a non-eternal substance can change. God couldn't change if He needed to (which He would not). because He exists within the highest and supreme state of perfection. Words fail to explain at this time the state God is in. but we tend to do grasp God became a person, therein he added another nature to his immortal, therefore He came in human flesh, we all know him as Jesus Christ.
He is not liberated to act contrary to his nature that's permanent, that doesn't change. will this mean he's not all-powerful? No- it implies that as an ideal and stable being His commands and actions are rooted within the ultimate good, that be due his nature. God's ethical character doesn't change. “I the Lord change not “(Mal.3:6). “There isn't any shadow of change with God” (Jm.1:17).
His nature is eternal. He cannot say tomorrow I’ll act just like the devil for a moment or sin as man does. What God has been, He can continuously be, (the I Am). he's utterly self reliant inside himself and unchanging.
3. Can God stop being God or stop existing? the nature of God is infinite- which means without stopping, he's from everlasting to everlasting. God's unchanging moral character may be a ethical absolute, he modifies not. This includes quality, justice, love, mercy and truth. God is WHO he's forever and is that the solely constant issue (being) within the universe. solely created things subject to time and house that square measure of a non-eternal substance will amendment. God couldn't amendment if He wished to (which He would not). As a result of He exists within the highest and supreme state of perfection. Words fail to explain at now the state God is in. But we tend to do understand God became a person, therein he additional another nature to his spiritual being, thus He came in human flesh, we all know him as Word.
4.Within the same vein, If God "almighty" will do something as some claim then can he make another God? will He offer Godhood to a person, or angel? No creature will ever become that which is uncreated. The purpose is God cannot duplicate Himself in an exceedingly creature and change them to a nature like His. because no creature shaped is eternal God alone is from eternity, there aren't any others in this category.
5.God cannot sin, holiness is an element of his intrinsic nature, He cannot do otherwise. What God is, He forever exists as. He cannot break his commands of holiness that mirror his nature.
6. God cannot learn something new.
Before He created something He knew all regarding it. This is often why he's ready to predict the long run with good accuracy. t
There's no progression in information for God as there's with man. He knew the tip before the start, before he even began to form.
7. God cannot answer every prayer you want but only people who are in accordance to His will being done on earth. He cannot answer prayers that will do the terribly opposite of His functions or go against His sensible. that's why he tells us to hope consistent with His will.
*8. God is always right
He's never wrong. when God does something; it's not right as a result of He did it, it's right as a result of it's right. God is ideal in judgment and in all His ways. it's not sensible because God selected it, so it should be good! God selected it as a result of it's good, God wills it as a result of it's good, it’s not sensible just because he wills it or selected it to be. God isn't discretional or capricious. He is aware of the greater good as a result of He alone possesses all knowledge. All of nature shows this to be true.
We should not show our ignorance and make God to be as us people at large. God has expressed his nature by the Scripture and he says his word can't be broken. it's eternal and settled within the heavens.
Isn't it good to understand there's a being in charge of the entire universe that's perfect in His judgments and decisions, and ways. who keeps His promises and never does wrong. That he's eager to do good toward those that repent and please Him by exercising faith in Him. that's a comfort for those that are for Him rather than against Him. For those against him this might bring fear, knowing that they'll get justice in the end. he's the only one you'll totally trust in.
