Celestial Challenge Monday - Darkness. Acan brings anathema to the people of Israel
In Book of Joshua chapter 7, He tells us a story about a man named Acan Who Disobeyed God's command and brought anathema to the people of Israel.
To place them in the biblical context, this was when the people of Israel commanded by Joshua took Jericho and God told them not to touch or covet because anathema would bring and disturb them. they only saved the harlot Rahab, her house and her family because she had given asylum and food to the spies of Joshua.
All the mutiny that took place in Jericho as gold, silver, utensils was consecrated to Jehovah. Men, women, children, clothing, animals had to be burned, and anyone who did not comply with everything ordered by Joshua and Jehovah would curse him.
But there was a man named Acan who dared to challenge God, who thought that God could be mocked. Because of this sin, the presence of the Lord departed from the people of Israel and 3,000 men died.
Joshua, disconsolate, asked for revelation from the man who told him to check as there was anathema in the middle of the camp.
Joshua 7: 19 - 21. "Then Joshua said to Acan, My son, give glory to Jehovah the God of Israel, and give him praise, and declare to me now what you have done, you do not find me."
And Achan answered Joshua, saying: I have sinned against Yahweh, the God of Israel, and this is what I have done.
"Well, among the spoils, a very good Babylonian robe, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a gold ingrede weighing fifty shekels, which I coveted and took and behold, it is hidden under the earth in the midst of my tent, and the money under it. "
And certainly everything was there where Acan had said, as punishment He and his whole family were stoned and burned by the Israelites.
Sometimes as human beings we want to behave like Acan, we sin and conceal it so that no one finds out without knowing that we are bringing a curse to our house and our family.
The sin is lies, pornography, rudeness, adultery, fornication, etc. Our flesh loves sin, but once we know the Lord and reveal to us what has been taken away from us by peace and blessing, we do not want to leave that sin, you know why? Because we like it.
Sin does not appear ugly or uninteresting, on the contrary it appears rich, beautiful, desirable, tempting, etc. The word of God says that the one who confesses his sin and moves away reaches mercy, the more he conceals it curses.
We must analyze ourselves day after day so as not to have anathema in our lives, every day new temptations are presented to us, so we must be attentive because we do not know the day or the hour in which the Lord comes and we do not go with Him, believing that We were firm.
The coming of the Lord is near and we have to be prepared in holiness and obedience. I hope you liked my post about the anathema and the sins that take away the blessing.
