GOD'S FAVOURITE
“Numbers 12:1-8 King James Version (KJV)
And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
4 And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
(Two persons spoke against God's anointed, although they were his brother and sister, the voice of the Lord came out of defend him)
5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”
God has favourites. The best thing you can do for yourself is to be among His favourites.
Any preacher who tells you that God does not have favourites is deceiving you. God reveals His secrets to His servants, the prophets. They are the ones He tells special things and they are different from other people. Cain went away from the presence of God and God watched him and allowed him to go away into destruction. Brother Jonah tried the same thing He ran away from the presence of the Lord and the Lord pursued him. Why? He was God's favourite. God did not want him to go like that. God told Abraham that if He found ten righteous men in Sodom and Gomorrah, He would not destroy it. Abraham did some quick calculations and God agreed with him, but God could not find ten people who were right with Him.
The angel warned Lot and his wife to escape for their lives and never to look back. Lot's wife looked back and became a pillar of salt she set a record. She was the first person to become a salt and go to hell fire. But Abraham was watching how the same Sodom and Gomorrah were burning and he did not become a pillar of salt. It is because he was God's favourite.
God spoke to Samuel but Eli, who was nearby did not hear. If you read the story of Samson carefully, you would find that when Samson was to be born, his mother saw an angel and the the angel gave her the news. She went home and told the father and he said:
“It would be very well if you see the angel again to tell us the regulations to follow.”
The angel appeared again in the absence of Samson's father. It would appear as if Samson's father was not a serious person because the two times that the angel appeared, it was the mother of Samson that saw him. She must have been God's favourite.
There is a man in the book of Acts of the Apostle called Ananias. In fact, It will be a thing of joy when I get to heaven, I'd love to see him. God came to Him and said,
“Ananias” and he answered, “Yes, Lord.” God called him by his name.
Has God ever called us by name? It means that Ananias was God's favourite.
God called him and he answered. He recognised the voice of the Lord. The reason someone us cannot differentiate between the voice of the Lord, the voice of the devil and their own voice is that they are not close enough to the Lord. If you are used to hearing the voice of God, you will not mistake it for another voice.
Most women know the voice of their husbands. Likewise, if we are used to hearing God, once He talks to us, we should know, and if the enemy talks too, will should be able to recognise his voice. That is why He says
“I know my sheep and my sheep know my voice.”
If we do not know His voice, the truth is that we should check whether we are His sheep or not. As a believer that is the first thing to check.
God told Ananias to go to a particular place, where he would find Saul praying. He told him to lay hands on Saul that he might receive his sight and the baptism of the Holy Ghost. He had thought that God wanted to kill him by sending him to Saul who was killing Christians. But the Lord said,
“For this cause have I called him to be light unto the Gentiles and he shall suffer many things for my sake”
Ananias did not argue to read that immediately Ananias got there, he said,
“Brother Saul.”
He was the first person to call Saul a brother. Ananias was God's favourite.
Jesus is transfigured and Peter, James and John see Him talking with Moses and Elijah.;

Seventy people followed Jesus and His disciples. After the 70, there was another 12 that he used to talk to. When He went to the Mount of Transfiguration, He took only three;
Peter, James and John. Out of these three, He picked John and loved him extraordinarily. John was the last disciple to die. Whenever other disciples wanted to ask Jesus questions, they prompted John to ask Him. John was Jesus' favourite.
Beloved, becoming God's favourite is a personal decision. We are as close to God as we choose to be.
Do you want to become God's favourite?
Others may be counterfeit but you cannot if you want to become a favourite of God.
But if we just to come to church and warm the benches without becoming anything serious for the Lord, then we are just faking and telling lies and covering them up.
PRAYER
O Heaven, declare the glory of God over my life, in the name of Jesus.
I recieve the baptism of favour, in the name of Jesus.
