People usually use different defenses throughout life. They are necessary and develop from children, when we do not have the necessary resources to deal with pain. Its function is to protect the emotional balance, allow the development of personality, facilitate socialization and contact with reality. For this reason one should seek refuge in God and the direction of the holy spirit.
