STEEMCHURCH: SEVEN FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH

in #steemchurch7 years ago

Warm greetings in the Name Of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Today we will be continuing with the series: Seven Fundamental Principles For Spiritual Growth.

John wrote the Book of First John to the Church, not to the world.
He was talking to believers when he said,

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse is from all unrighteousness.
(1 John 1:9).

Thank God for His promise of forgiveness!.

That verse does not belong to the sinner.
That's not a confession the sinner can make.
A singer couldn't remember everything he has done being because his whole nature is wrong since his spirit hasn't been born again.
No, John wrote this verse to Christians
God does not want us to sin. But if we do, Jesus Christ our advocate with the Father to plead our case.

1 JOHN 2:1-2

1 My little children, these things write in unto you, that sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And He is the propitiation for our sins and not firbiur it, but also for the sins of the whole world.

John is saying that Jesus is the atonement firbiur sins as well as for the sins of the whole world.

When we put all these scriptures together, they tell us that when we confess our sins, GOD not only cleanses us from all unrighteousness and forgives us, but He will not remember our sins anymore.

In order to grow Spiritually, every believer needs to take advantage of First John 1:9 and First John 2:1-2 to receive forgiveness for his sins.

However, once a Nicer confesses his sin, he must make the decision to stop remembering them because GOD forgets them!.
PRAISE THE LORD!!!
HALLELUJAH!!!.

So fellow Believers, forget what the Lord has forgotten.
Forget what is behind.
If you think about it, it will hinder your spiritual progress.
It will keep your faith and prayers from working.
It can keep you from receiving healing for your body and other blessings and provisions of God.

So make the decision to forget your past sins today and experience title freedom and Growth in Christ.

SHALOM!!!

We are not ordinary, but we are Spirit filled beings.

Thanks for your continuous support.
GOD BLESS YOU.

Even when we were yet sinners God made provisions for Us to be saved. So Much love has the father bestowed on us that he sent Our Lord Jesus to die for our sins. Sin was the origin, but by the death of Christ and by one's confession of His Name, The father refuses to see sins, but rather He sees Jesus when he sees us, Holy, pure like Jesus!

I thank you for this series and would look out for more of it.
Glory!

Thank you for your comment.
Expect more soon.

True repentance comes from the heart. The bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, but if we confess our sins, He will forgive us. He's truly full of mercy and loving kindness, if only we ask for His forgiveness.
Pride is one of things that can hinder our spiritual growth. Pride will prevent us from asking for mercy.

Thank you @sc-n and God bless you

Pride comes before a fall.

Thank you for your continuous support Sis Ammy.
GOD BLESS YOU.

After we confess that our sins, we should know that God has forgiven is. So we should learn to forget our past mistakes, failures and sins.

Thanks @sc-n for this great post

Much obliged @sc-n for this message really we christians donot need to request pardoning and notwithstanding when we do it is done facetiously yet we should have a contrite heart since the blood of Jesus is here to wash down us

So be it. That is a decent update. This message in John's epistle is exceptionally essential in the Christian life. It gives peace the fallen and gives them trust that there's a rebound

Genuine atonement originates from the heart. The book of scriptures says all have trespassed and missed the mark concerning the greatness of God, however in the event that we admit our transgressions, He will excuse us. He's genuinely loaded with benevolence and cherishing consideration, if just we request His absolution.

Pride is one of things that can ruin our profound development. Pride will keep us from requesting leniency.

Much obliged to you @sc-n and God favor you

Much obliged to you @sc-n for this compose up,we need to overlook our past sins and push ahead in life.We are not likewise to backpedal to our transgressions since he is dependable to forgive, once we request pardoning we shouldn't backpedal to sin again. It will resemble a puppy backpedaling to his regurgitation.

Thank you for commenting.

You are welcome.

God is not done with his work when we first believe and are saved. He intends day by day to make us into what we already are in Christ. Spiritual growth is not optional or marginal in the Christian life. Every person that truly believes in Christ is increasingly transformed into his likeness.

Principle for Bible Reading
The Bible uses hundreds and hundreds of metaphors to help us understand the Christian life. In these verses, Peter talks about “spiritual milk” (1 Peter 2:2). When you come across a word picture like this, press on it to see all that the author wants you to see about the truth being depicted.

Study Questions
Explain the “So” (or “Therefore”) at the beginning of 1 Peter 2:1. How does this first verse of chapter two build on the last verses of chapter one?
Explain Peter’s milk metaphor in 1 Peter 2:1–3. What is the milk? And what role does it play in the Christian life?
Looking at 1 Peter 1:5, 9; 2:2, explain how Peter is using the word “salvation.” What seems different about the way he is using it, and how would you explain how it fits with other places in the Bible that talk about our salvation?

Well said.
Thank you for commenting Bro.

Christ died for us so we could be reconciled back to our maker. On several occasions He expressly stated that he came for the lost; this shows God's love to sinners-- His desire is that they will recognise who they really are, and run back in brokenness to where they truly belong. And John 1:9 wraps it up:

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse is from all unrighteousness.

To me, this the first step to spiritual growth. Then, the rest is being taken care of by Holyspirit -- submitting our will to His, and yielding to him per time.

Thanks for sharing @sc-n.
Kind regards.

Well said Bro.
Thank you for your continuous support.
GOD BLESS YOU.

Thank God for His promise of forgiveness, He is ready to forgive us our sins only if we can ask from a clean heart..... Thanks @sc-n for this wonderful post...
