Becoming what we were created to be!
9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. (Col 2:9-10, NIV)
In Christ, all the fullness of God dwells. Christ wants us to do the same-to have the fullness in Christ. With Christ in us, we become what we were created to be
Some people call Christ “half God and half man”. But Christ was fully God and fully man. That was what was unique about Christ
That is good news. If Christ could be fully man and fully God at the same time, we can also have God in us! That was the mystery Paul shared with Colossians
25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Col 1, NIV)
When we have Christ in us, we should be living like one
Christ came as the light of the world, and we are also called to be light of the world and the salt of the earth
If we have kept salt in the home somewhere mispalced we cook food without salt, what is the use? The same way, if have a flashlight (torchlight) at home and we don’t find it when needed the most, what is the use?
Many Christians are living as very good Christians, but for themselves. They are like the salt or light hidden somewhere!
All around us, there is much need for light and salt. Many lives need us so badly, while and we are “reserving” us to ourselves
That is why Jesus came into the world and brightened the whole world with his light. A star appeared in the sky when he was born into this world, because Jesus himself was
the morning star of hope to dying world
9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. (John 1, NIV)
There are so many “lights” out there and then there is the true light!
If we say that we have Jesus in us, and we have people around us sitting in darkness, something is seriously wrong!
Sometimes, the electricity may fail in some places while people are gathered for some functions. All of a sudden, people who have lights light them up!
That is all God is asking us to do. “You have the light and people are struggling in darkness to your left and right. Why not shine the light?”
Be the salt that makes their lives better and tastier!
Have a blessed day. Shine for Jesus, not for ourselves!
Today Prayer: * Jesus, it is quite some time I spent real quality time with you. It has always been some “fast talk”. I charge my phone everynight, so that I can use it all day, but all I spent with you is just a few moments. Help me spent some quality time with you and brighten the life of people around me. Amen
