From Bethany to Calvary - #2
"What is she doing here?" Peter asked. "How would I know?" Andrew replied. Judas also noticed the woman, and asked Andrew, "Is that not the woman that had been following us since we entered the town?" "Yes, she is! I didn't know you noticed her as well. Infact, I had to confront her to know what her mission was for trailing us. She didn't answer me. I didn't even know she followed us here!" Andrew replied.
"CP look, she is approaching our table," Andrew said. "What's that in her hand?" Andrew asked rhetorically. A moment of silence engulfed the room as this woman walked towards the table, and went to where Jesus sat..
Without uttering a word, she broke the Alabaster bottle of costly fragrance in her hand and emptied it on Jesus' head. Silence engulfed the room as everyone watched her kneel before the master and whisper some words to him. Tears rolled down her cheeks as Jesus looked into her eyes with a smile on his face.
"Waste! What a waste!" Judas yelled, as he broke the silence that once filled the room. "This perfume could have been sold and the money given to the poor, instead of this waste!" Judas said angrily. The woman was unmoved, as she knelt still, at the Master's feet, bathing his feet with her tears.
"The poor you will always have among you," Jesus answered. "This woman is doing this in preparation for my burial..." While Jesus was yet speaking, Judas excused himself to receive a phone call..
