The gods, Mammon you pay no attention to in the present Time!
The Earth is Man's domain, and we have been mandated to go and dominate it. But is so disheartening that the things we were instructed to dominate and rule now rule some part of humanity and i can't help but wonder why these people are ignorant of the scriptures.
By default, since the Earth is man's and the Heaven's foot stool; Man ought not to suffer to thrive or be comfortable to live. This is a fundamental reason why people worship demi-gods to maybe at least get a better life by seeking help from deities. This has also pushed man to place:
- money
- power
- time
- position
- fashion
- science
- world system
- loved ones and other created things above the Almighty God.
EXPLAINING IT AT A TIME!
"For Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry..."1 Samuel 15:23(KJV)
Loving some people overly could be considered as idolatry, some love music icons to stupor and some would do anything miserable to be with these people. Another set of people could go bankrupt to attend musical concerts just to see a musician and yet the House of God is not as important as this things.
Money, Power, Position are greater mammon; of course we all know the filthy things that had been done to achieve this things. Some had killed, sacrifice their loved ones or reproductive organs just to attain some level of position and or to get extremely rich. This are typical examples of idolatry and idol worship and is a terrible state of Apostasy!
Let us all be wary of anything placed above God and his superiority. A god made/fabricated and carried about is just a craft and not an omnipresence entity like the almighty. Sadly, there other tiny things humans do not pay attention to which are mammon.
Food, delicacies could be a god. In some regions of the World, food is worshiped and same as Fashion. Science is one of the greatest controversial god, the knowledge of the Physical things around us which has erased the mentality of the supreme being who created all things. Then there is rebellion spirits/Rioting and Stubbornness which is very common in Youths and adolescents stages.
We do not pay much attention to these things or we pay just a tiny little attention to them. So we stand in grave danger of committing the act of ignorance- Not seeking for Knowledge!

Uhmmm....this is deep! So many other things fighting for our attention! It takes the very mature, very focused, very discerning minds to focus on the right things by dedicating the correct proportion of time to each. If we put God first in all we do e.g. ensuring we spend quality time in His presence before getting submerged in the activities of each day, twould be easier to handle.
As for me, social media has been a huge help and yet often proves to be a huge distraction. I try to balance its influence on me by switching over to airplane mode for a few hours whenever I need to focus on other stuff.

another idol worship common among Christians unknowingly to us is seeing ur pastor like a demi god.. Is understandable if we love our pastors so much but when it becomes extreme, it takes a different toll.

This is really helpful.I'm sure someone out there needs this. The almighty is the only one worthy to worship. Only after we are ready to follow his commandments, then, we are free in this world. Killings and idolatory is not sure to end if we don't see him has the Supreme. He ha screated us to be contented witn all he has provided. He is worthy to be followed.

We must constantly feed ourselves with the truth of God's word. This Mammons are subtle and seek to take the place of God, it's easy to allow them grow in our hearts as we continue in our daily activities, however we must kill ajy trace if their rising.
To overcome, we must continually renew our mind with God's word.
