Gratitude-The Ten Lepers

Luke Chapter 17 vs 11 - 19

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

This passage identifies four main characters; The Ten Lepers, The Saviour, The Foreigner, The Nine Lepers.
From Childhood we are taught good manners by our Parents and the importance of Gratitude; saying Thank You for every kind gesture.

The story of the Ten lepers puts gratitude in its proper perspective, it is our duty as Christians to serve seflessly and to always show gratitude to God for His Mercies And Grace even when we don't deserve it.

On His way to Jerusalem, Jesus met the Ten lepers; Men who had Leprosy, a chronic infectious disease causing skin lesions and nerve damage, the lepers usually lose the ability to feel pain.

They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”^{vs 13}

Jesus saw them and said "Go Show yourselves to the Priest", in the very act of obedience they were cleansed by the divine power.

And As They Went, They Were Cleansed^{vs 14}

The Stranger(samaritan) came back to Thank Jesus,he showed gratitude. The Remaining nine who were Jews did not.
Likewise Christians abuse privileges from the brotherhood and take good deeds for granted.

It will cost you nothing to show gratitude for good deeds granted, Gratitude gladdens the heart of the giver and open doors for more opportunitues and favor.

Appreciate Your Opportunities
Do Not Take Good Deeds Towards You For Granted
