Christ the King
Today Catholics all over the world celebrate the feast of Christ the King.
At times like this, we openly declare Christ the king over our lives, businesses, families and the universe in it's entirety.
The Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, commonly referred to as the Feast of Christ the king, was added to the liturgical calendar by Pope Pius XI for the Roman Catholic Church in 1925.
Christ the king feast was moved to the final Sunday of Ordinary time by the Roman Catholic observance in 1970.
The Anglican, Lutheran and many other Protestant churches also celebrate the Feast of Christ the King.
It was also observed on the same computed date as the final Sunday of the ecclesiastical year, the Sunday before the First Sunday of Advent by Western rite parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church outside Russia.
If to Christ our Lord is given all power in heaven and on earth; if all men, purchased by his precious blood, are by a new right subjected to his dominion; it must be clear that not one of our faculties is exempt from his empire.
He reigns in our minds, wills, hearts which should spurn our natural inclination towards professing our love for God.

Sure, Jesus taught the masses with intriguing and engaging messages . . . but He also came -- and is coming as a Mighty King!
As we celebrate the kingship of Christ today, let us remember the truth that he is not our King if we do not listen to him, love him, serve him and follow him. We belong to his Kingdom only when we walk with him.
If Christ is really King of my life, he must be King of every part of my life, and I must let him reign in all parts of my life. We become Christ the King’s subjects when we sincerely respond to his loving invitation: "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart" (Matthew 11:29).
