Get Washed By His Blood
TEXT : ๐ฅ๐ Acts 22:15-21โ
TEXT FOCUS : ๐ฅ๐๐ก"And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord ", (verse 16)
๐ฅโ๐ I welcome you to this new month of cleansing. I Pray, every dirt in your life shall be washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ and you have a wonderful testimony in the name of Jesus Christ.
๐ฅโ๐ The essence of baptism is to show physical demonstration of a spiritual work wrought by Jesus Christ in the life of a believer. Although water baptism, (i.e. deeping of a believer in water ) on its own cannot take away the sin of any man, however it is a necessary sacrament to observe by whoever has given his/her life to Christ, to show the spiritual work of cleansing carried out through the blood of Jesus to wash away the sins of a believer.
๐ฅโ๐ The blood of Jesus Christ is not physical, and cannot be applied on man as the blood of goats and bulls were used in the Old Testament (Heb 9). However, in as much as the blood of Jesus Christ shed for the remission of the sins of man is ever potent to take away the sin of man (Eph. 1:7), there is need to (1) have faith in the concluded work of Christ through his blood for it to work for you (Rom 3:21-22) and (2) there is need to be physically washed in baptism as we see from our bible passage today (Rom 6:1-11).
๐ฅโ๐ It is possible for someone to experience God's miracle and yet end in hell, someone can be a Pastor or a Church worker and go to hell, someone can even be used by God to heal, deliver, and bless God's people and yet still end in hell. The only hope of making it to heaven after our stay on earth is to be washed and remain cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Are you washed by the blood? Are you baptized without been washed by the blood? The only hope of eternity with God is to accept CHRIST as your Lord and and be cleaned by His BLOOD.
