The Evidence which make it clear that Jesus is God

In CHRIST everything has been created, what is in heaven and what is on earth, the visible and the invisible, be it thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: ALL things are created THROUGH HIM and FOR HIM

Edward Payson writes: The statement that all things were created through Him is sufficient proof of Jesus' divinity. What Payson writes here is very important. I want you to really take this to heart. For He Who created all things MUST be God. Jehovah's Witnesses and other groups, they look for tiny proof texts against Jesus' divinity, but they don't get the whole picture. Christ created ALL things, but no one but God does. But if we are still reassured THAT all things were created for CHRIST, here is another proof of Jesus' divinity that may be even more convincing. If we say: He created all things, then this is a proof of His divinity. But when we say that CHRIST created ALL THINGS FOR ITSELF, that all things were created for HIM, then this is even greater proof that he is God. Why? Well, listen. This argument is really a bullet. Even if we assume for a moment that God would hire a creature to carry out creation, could we assume that God would allow that creature to do everything for Himself, for His own pleasure and glory? Certainly not! Let us suppose for a moment that God says that I give a creature the opportunity to create all this - would He then allow that creature to get the glory for it? Well, here is the answer: God has said, "I am Jehovah, that is my name, and I will not give my glory to another! But if Christ is not God, all the glory that God is entitled to is given to a creature. The glory of having created EVERYTHING, of having upheld EVERYTHING, of having directed EVERYTHING, of having redeemed and judged the world-all THAT IS GIVEN TO CHRIST. Do you see how absurd it would be if Christ were not God?

ALL IS GIVEN TO HIM. Absolutely EVERYTHING! Then everything that God says about sharing His glory with no one would be wrong, if Christ is not God. EVERYTHING was created to give the glory to Christ. If Christ is not Jehovah, then everything is given to another, and Jehovah has no glory left. This is extremely important! Do you see how comprehensive this argument is?

This is not like going to John 1:1 and pretending, through a slight twist of the Greek text, that there is an indefinite article and that it says "and the Word was a God"-but the whole point here in Scripture in general is that everything the Bible says about Jesus Christ would be impossible if this Jesus were not God, if the Son of God were not God the Son.
