Kinds of love we are to display
Love that perseveres and never gives up. Our love must remain committed and sold out through all circumstances. This is love that believes in God and His faithfulness to the end. “Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7).
Love that thrives both in good times and tough times. Every spouse is called to give the gift of unending love. We are to pay the price of lasting commitment. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth” (Malachi 2:15)
Love that shields and protects. Husbands and wives must learn to protect their heart from being diverted and being distracted. Invest your interest in your home. Guard your heart against bias, sin, evil desires, fault finding, complaining and comparison.
Child of God marriage is all demanding and does not require casual attitude. For our love to look like God’s love, it must never give up.
