Communication
Communication is what holds the family together. It is a basic tools in building a fruitful and lasting marriage, without communication in any relationship there is nothing like a successful relationship.
Two kinds of communication:
Verbal communication: This entails the use of words: This is a where we communicate to our spouse through words; heart to heart conversation....not shouting or nagging because where everyone is talking no one is taking.
While Non-verbal involves the use of action like using our sense organ to send message across for example using our eyes to communicate.
The Component of effective communication.
To ensure that communication is enhanced and successful, there are some ingredient that will adds flavour to it:
Trust:
Communication can never be successful if you don't have trust for your spouse. Trust is essential for any lasting relationship.
Understanding:
Understanding will help you to read in between line..you have to pay keen interest on the sender, understands the message they are sending across, understand it and then chose carefully the choice of words you will use to reply them. Proverbs 13:15
Good understanding gains favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard
Wisdom
It is wisdom to set aside communication, don't speak just for speaking sake. Let your word be seasoned. Learn to chose the right words. One of the benefit of communication is that it brings intimacy between husband and wife.
How do you enhance communication
Be a good listener: good listeners are good lovers, good communicators are also good listeners.
Be truthful
Timing is very vital: know when your spouse is in the right mode. Let's look at Proverbs 15:13
A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Live a life of prayer, praise and worship. Ephesians 5:19
Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.
