(Luke 6:35)
“ But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.”

Who would you rather help? Someone who helped you in your time of distress or another who mocked you when you were down? Well, by the eye-for-eye principle, I believe you would want to look away from the mocker in his own time of trouble, yet that is not the character of Christ.
Where showing love is concerned, Christ has raised the bar – we are to love and be kind even to those who mocked and spited us in the past. Why? It is because it is in God’s nature to do so, and as His children, the same must become our lifestyle too, even as God’s Spirit works out the fruits of righteousness in us daily. Glory to God!
Today, put the principle of repaying evil with good as you consciously pick out those who have hitherto opposed you, and make them beneficiaries of an act of kindness, expecting nothing in return. Thank the Lord for strengthening you to do this.

Dear Father, I worship you today for who you are. You are my Rock and Fortress, and it is in you I live, move and have my being. I am grateful for the gift of this new day in the month of April, and I ask that you renew the right spirit within me and help me to see as you see even as I fellowship with you throughout this month. Help me to become more like you and to live a life that pleases you daily, in Jesus Name. Amen.
