Raising Godly Children
Every parent's desire is to see their children become great and God-fearing. The Bible says in Proverbs chapter 22 verse 6 “ Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it”.
These days, parents hardly have time for their children, some pay nannies and house-helps to play their roles in the lives of these children while they engage in the pursuit of money and material things and at the end of it all, they become strangers to their children. Some have their children around but cannot connect or bond with them.
Parents need to create time for their children. Have a solid foundation because it breeds trust and this makes it easy for them to open up on any issue bothering them because i can boldly tell you that this children go through a lot and if you do not influence them positively in the home front, the society would influence them.
To train a child is not easy but with the help of the Holy spirit, it is easy. Children need love, nurturing, and care, attention to grow into godly and productive adults.
Pray for your children always, they need it, be available for them so you can properly train and raise them.
The parents are responsible for teaching their children right from wrong and showing them what it means to be a Christian.
Still, we shouldn't be surprised when most of our children reject God. Most of the world rejects God. A lot of people prefer their sexual sins now over righteousness and eternal life in heaven later.
I helped raise my stepson since he was 4 so he grew up in a Christian home. I wasn't raised in a Christian home. He's a Christian yet he doesn't seem to have much interest in growing spiritually and becoming more godly. He married a woman who grew up in a church but isn't a Christian.
I've watched a number of children grow up in the church. Their parents were Christians. The majority abandoned the church when they grew up and lived the same godless lifestyle as their peers. It's sad.
This is correct, that is why we need the Holyspirit to help us. In as much as we train them, we also need to pray for them so all the teachings are in their heart. Thank you for your comment.
