What is forgiveness
According to merriam-webster dictionary, forgiveness is the act of forgiving someone or something.

We see that many Christians today finds it difficult to forgive those who offend them. If you don't forgive others how do you expects your Heavenly Father to forgive you.
KJV:And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.(Matthew 6:12) we see here that without forgiving our debtors (those who offended us) our Heavenly Father will not forgive us.

If you are a Christian and yet you can't forgive others, you are not yet a Christian because we as the children of God, we must following his footsteps (our Father's footsteps (Jesus) to forgive others, our debtors)

Why should you forgive others
According to Matthew 6:12
The reason is that our Heavenly Father will forgive us also.

Now in the parable Jesus told his disciple Matthew 18:21-34
The king forgive him but he finds it difficult to forgive another who owned him. And there was a consequence for his inability to forgive.
And this is exactly what will happen to any body who finds it difficult to forgive others.
I pray we should not be among those people. This is why we should forgive others(our debt) to avoid the consequences that follows. Matthew 18:35.

How many times should we forgive our debtors /offenders:
Matthew 18:21-22
KJV:Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
No matter how many times people offended you, you have to forgive them that your Heavenly Father may forgive you too.
