THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF GOD(Exodus 20:1-17)
After God had delivered the children of Israel from the hands of Pharaoh, He told Moses to assemble them and God gave out His commandments which I will be talking about in this post.
Commandments are laws that are laid down and expected of us to follow accordingly. There is a saying that "Where there is no law,there is no sin". When laws are made, we ought to stand by it lest we are punished for it. God had laid down His laws not for the children of Israel alone but for we the children of God and if we must worship God and wants Him to always answer us whenever we call,we also need to obey His laws or else we are calling for the wrath of God.

1 The first commandment is found in verse 3. We must not have any other gods except God. God created us in His own image and His reason is for us to praise and worship Him. He delivers the children of Israel from suffering, pains,bondage etc and He doesn't want His effort to be wasted by them worshipping another god that cannot hear nor talk to them.
2 The second commandment is in verse 4-5, we must not make any graven image for us to worship because God is a jealous God and He said He will even visit the iniquity of the father upon the children even to the third and fourth generation. This means that the sins our fathers committed long ago before they die,God will make the children suffer for it. So we must not worship any other god or make anything in the image of god for us to worship. God detest that
3 You must not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
Many people are fond of calling God in vain, they are one leg in and other leg out. They serve Satan and also seen calling the name of God. They don't see what the Bible say that God will not hold anyone guiltless of it. It is a sin to be in darkness and still using the mouth to pronounce the name of God. This is common among pastors who calls themselves minister of God and are secretly worshipping the devil.
4 The fourth commandment is to always respect the Sabbath day which is the seventh day God rested from His work. The Sabbath day is called Sunday where we go to church to worship God and not seen doing any work other than been in the house of God.
5 The fifth commandment is to obey our parents who God has given to be our guardian here on earth. Anyone who wants to live long and enjoy the blessing of parents on his/her life,must obey and honour his/her parents or else,their days will be cut short
6 The sixth is we must not kill. According to the law in the Nigerian constitution, whoever that kills will be killed. And moreover,since we cannot bring back the life of people we have killed,we should not even try to do such or else we are incurring a quick judgement from God. It is a sin to God when we kill our fellow being.
7 The seventh law is we must not be adulterous. Adultery is when a married man/woman is found having an extra marital affairs with a stranger apart from his/her spouse. It is God that joined both the man and woman together and they must not be found committing adultery. It is a sin.
8 You must not steal. This is the eighth commandment, stealing is not good and it is a sin before God. When you take what does not belong to you, God is not happy and will be judged for it
9 The ninth law is you must not say what you don't see your neighbour doing all because you hate him/her. Do not judge your neighbour wrongly because you think he/she offends you in a way and trying to take revenge on him/her
10 We must not take possession of our neighbour's property,it doesn't belong to us. Be contented with what you have

These are the commandments God wants His children to follow and be complete in Him. Jesus was perfect and we also need to be perfect too.

Man by nature breaks the rules that offend God, the intention of the commandments was an idea to preserve love, respect and the right to life. Jesus Christ fulfilled them to teach us that with his grace we can fulfill it now.

The ten commandment serves as a guide to all christian But remember that Jesus had a discussion with a rich man that thought he knew and has kept the ten commandment right from his childhood but when he was asked to go and sell all he had and share to the poor, his countenance change. Been perfect transcende from keeping the ten commandment it entails more.

STOPThe ten commandments of God are what we as a Christian must abide with to be God's children. God expects us to obey His laws before our prayers can be answered.
