STEEMCHURCH: Parents, teach your children from a young age to love Jehovah.
Now, although parents are very happy with the arrival of their baby, they know that they will have new and important responsibilities. From now on, for example, they will have to feed him every day so that he grows up and becomes a healthy adult. And not only that, so that your child becomes a friend of Jehovah when he grows up, parents should guide him and teach him the principles of the Word of God.
Listen, my son, the discipline of your father, and do not abandon the law of your mother. Proverbs 1: 8
In one part of the Bible, he tells us about a man named Manóah who lived in the Israelite city of Zorá. Manóah and his wife had no children, but the angel of Jehovah told her that they would soon have one (Judges 13: 2, 3). The couple was very happy, but they wanted to know how to raise their child well. So Manóah asked Jehovah to send the angel back to teach them how to raise the child they were going to have (Judges 13: 8). When the child was born, Manóah and his wife called him Samson. They taught him the law of Jehovah, and he accepted what he was taught. The Bible says that Samson became judge of Israel and that the holy spirit of Jehovah helped him to do amazing things.
Christian parents do well to think about how they will teach their children when they are born and ask Jehovah for guidance in doing so. The Bible assures us in Proverbs 21: 5 that things go better when they think well. Parents usually prepare well for the arrival of the baby. Some even list the things your child will need. It is also important to think about how they are going to teach you about Jehovah, because you will undoubtedly want to start as soon as possible.
Parents should guide and teach their children to become friends with Jehovah.
Parents can achieve very good results if they teach their children from a young age. But this is not always easy.
Think of something that Moses said. "These words that I am sending you today must turn out to be over your heart; and you have to inculcate them in your son and talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you get up "Deuteronomy 6: 6, 7
Children are like little trees that you have to water often. And if repetition helps adults learn, it sure helps children, too.
Parents need to spend time with their children to teach them the truth of Jehovah, but it is not easy with such tight schedules. Take advantage of the time you have to teach your children to obey and love the laws of God.
"Like arrows in the hand of a powerful man."Psalm 127: 4
Here the Bible compares children with arrows that must aim well to hit the target. An archer only has the arrow in his hands for a few seconds and, when he shoots it, he can no longer recover it. Similarly, parents only have a few years to educate their children before they grow up.
It's so important that our children are raised up in the statutes of God's grace so that they don't become prisoners of the law, but of righteousness..
So it has to be that is why we must inculcate our children small to love God above all things.
Or rather to solidify that they are loved by God above all things.
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."
-1 John 4:10
